Well, I know you guys have been dying for this so here it is. First off, it is really great to see Mirjana back on court. She really belongs there. The first game was sort of an omen of things to come. Lucic had the points set up well but made errors. Tu played a few good points to hold. Mirjana double faulted on the first point in her serve game which was a SERIOUS problem tonight. She played a few bad points to loose her serve. On the next game she had triple break point against Tu but couldn't close the game out. When Tu went up 3-0 I began to worry. The rest of the set was a dismal error fest from Mirjana. The thing that I liked about the first set was the although there was some negative emotion, Mirjana stayed positive and continued to play her game. The second set was just plain weird. Mirjana finally won a game and the crowd errupted. She then played a good game on Melien's serve but Melien played it a little bit better. She went up 2-1. When Lucic brought it to 2-2 I really somehow knew she would win the set. After getting down 2-4, Mirjana played her classic style. She showed the flashes of brilliance in her game that brought her to the semis of Wimbledon. She was hitting the ball so hard and banging the corners. She was extremely pumped in the tiebreak, which she played brilliantly in. After winning it I really thought Mirjana would win it. The third set really wasn't all that bad from Lucic. Melien rasied her game and I think lack of match play set in for Mirjana. Let me make one thing clear though....fitness was NOT an issue. Mirjana was moving like a gazelle out there. She played some decent tennis but not at the right times. I was impressed with Melien's ability to absorb power though. At 0-4 in the third Mirjana had 40-15 on her serve but couldn't close it out. Mirjana attitude stayed great though. At 0-5 she hit a winner on the first point and screamed "C'Mon!" I was glad to see her still fighting. Melien closed it out on a backhand in the net from Mirjana. After the match I saw Mirjana talking to her coach and I heard him say that she played well but it would just take matches for her to get confidence back. She say "I know" and went into the club. I could see her and Melien talking through the windows and they were both smiling and laughing a lot. Overall I think Mirjana is just happy to be back. She seems very willing to play and practice to get back to where she wants to be. If there are any questions please let me know. I would be more than happy to answer them for you. Good luck Mirjana!!! Please keep playing girl!:bounce:

Of course she is. Unfortunately I don't have a digital camera that works. I do however have acces to some pictures taken by the tournament and I am going to try to scan them in the next few days.

I've just seen your post...

Well, tennis is a bit funny game. You can even win more points then your opponent and still lose. But that's why we like it so much, I guess.
Anyways,it's good to know that she has a coach and that she wasn't dissapointed after losing, it's just like that-you cannot win if you don't play from week to week; training is one thing, match practice is something else.
I feel a bit more optimistic now, however, it's going to be very hard to come back. :bounce:

Good luck, Mirjana, hope to see you playing in Croatia and for Croatia someday again... :wavey:

Mirjana's got to learn to hit with at least some topspin at least some of the time. Otherwise, she's always going to be way too erratic. Hitting 30 winners in a match isn't going to help you a whole lot when you're also hitting 100 errors.
