7 French players will get direct entries, Severine Beltrame who played in QR in 03 and Camille Pin (03 MD WC) could still make MD on their own. Golovin got a WC last yr.

total # of MD wildcards available are 8

possibility:
next 10 top ranked French
Virginie Razzano
Stephanie Foretz
Virginie Pichet (03 MD WC)
Capucine Rousseau
Kildine Chevalier
Celine Beigbeder (03 MD WC)
Sandrine Testud
Amandine Dulon (03 MD WC)
Emmanuelle Edon
Sophie Lefevre (03 MD WC)
Yulia Fedossova
(Anais Laurendon=03 MD WC, now 24th ranked French player)

Former Winner
Iva Majoli, Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario, Martina Narvatilova

Young Prospect
Sesil Karatancheva, Maria Kirilenko, Angelique Widjaja

Exchang WC (if there is any)
Anne Keothavong, Chritina Wheeler got 03 MD WC
but there doesnt seem to be any agreement for French Tennis Federation.

Testud will get one, haven't seen her on the MD entries..
Beltrame will have one , Razzano , Foretz , Beigbeder, Pin, Dulon ( I hope Kilidine) but Majoli or Seles will have one if they need it.
One Aussie will have one, maybe Evie as she did well last year (R2, or with one set taken to Venus) or maybe Wheeler (again) or Watson.

Monica is not on the entry list, so she isn't using her special ranking for this tournament. So if she does play, it will only be because of a wild card.

I think:
Wheeler (stosur is in)
Testud
Seles
Razzano
Beltrame
Pin
Foretz
Majoli

Rousseau and chevalier unlucky

Does anyone know much about Chevaliar? Shen was a great junior some years back and seems to have only started playing a bit in the last 12 months.

Monica is not on the entry list, so she isn't using her special ranking for this tournament. So if she does play, it will only be because of a wild card.

She is on the entry list. Just on the next in qualies list. I don't think she wants to waste her injury rank for entry until she knows that she will play the event.

testud and seles are givens if they play minus the aussie leaves 5
pretty much guarantee there wont be any given to the juniors since theres alot of french girls having decent results. id guess
1. Severine Beltrame
2. Camille Pin
3. Virginie Razzano
4. Virginie Pichet and probably the 5th one it iva majoli
doesnt leave room for the juniors def not prakuskya or kirlenko
vaidisova is in qualifying

Fantastic

I dont think the French Open gives WC's to young prospects, only French players and others they have an exchange with.

I think it should be:

1. Severine Beltrame
2. Virginie Razzano
3. Camille Pin
4. Virginie Pichet
5. Sandrine Testud
6. Yulia Fedossova
7. Capucine Rousseau
8. Christina Wheeler (Australian Exchange Wildcard)

It's strange Razzano isn't ranked high enough for a direct entry; the last time I saw her, she was a pretty good player.

As for Mirjana Lucic, I'm sorry, but they need to crack down on her seemingly endless supply of wild cards until she shows signs of becoming a serious player again. Like others have said, what in the world has she been doing??? (I am glad she has come back this week, however)

you read my mind
they're the ones i'd give it to as well
Yulia Fedossova is young, talented and a local girl by way of Moscow

Virginie has missed alot of tennis since US Open, thats why her rank is down there.

I dont understand about Anais, she was given a WC last year, but she has done nothing since then:(

Virginie was injired for about 6 months. That's the reason why she is not ranked enough for a direct entry

alex will get one for wimbledon over possibly Emily Webley-smithm mel south ro karen paterson.

now who is the bigger waste? me thinketh alex

reckon will be what eggy thinks, french aren't usually too wild with their choices

Beltrame, Pin, Pichet, and Testud should be sure bets.

Wheeler probably for the Aussie WC, which leaves 3 more.

I'd say Rousseau, Majoli, and although she's been struggling, Razzano deserves a shot at the maindraw to get herself back on track.

Fedossova should go through qualies, she's still so young and if Iva gets a WC for the maindraw then someone has to be left out. Rousseau and Razzano deserve a shot at the maindraw IMO.

i think Karatancheva can't play until her birthday she already played all the turnaments she could. But from juniors i think Peer, Ivanovic, Kleibanova should get WC if not for MD then at least qualies
