Iva's is pretty much the career of Michael Chang, but with half the career span.
Both surprised the tours by winning French Open, and the only slam.
Both start to go down hill late in their career.
Both start to go into minor league events and lose.
And now Iva needs to get a WC into Roland Garros maindraw like Chang.
Chang retired the year he got his WC to Roland Garros since he won that.
So you know what I'm getting to;)

Chang won French at 17, started to go down at 26, and retired at 31.
Iva won French at 19, started to go down at 23, and retired at 27.
Could this happen?

How many titles did Michael Chang win ?

Iva is nowhere near his standard IMHO but an interesting comparison all the same.

Eh... that's kind of a stretch.

Chang was one match away from #1, while Iva was never near that... and they played very different games.

Chang reached the final of every slam but Wimbledon... Iva never reached another Slam SF.

I don't think Iva has ever thanked God for helping her win a tennis tournament...and THANK GOD FOR THAT! He (Chang) really got on my nerves with that stuff.

That's what I meant, Iva had only half the achievemnet, an half the career span.
Iva had 8 titles with 2 Tier I's, Chang probably got 16 titles with 4 Masters.
Iva exceled in Roland Garros befoer she went downhill, Chang did well on French, also US Open, moderately in Australia.
Iva was ranked #4, Chang was ranked #2 etc. etc.
What I meant was, she is probably the small version of of Michael.
And the whole point of my topic is to suggest Iva's retirement, just so u know:)

Not at all...
Chang was the better player, the only similarities is that only Grand Slam win at Roland Garros.

I think Chang had an extraoridinary career (i was never his fan). More so, WAY more professional about his career than Iva. I remember that time when she lost to Hingis at UP Open 7:6, 6:0 she said she was too nervous to play because her manager arranged her a meeting with Leonardo di Caprio. What an awful taste in men!

most players would kill to win six games off martina at that time...
