LAST SEEN: playing in her second round match in Japan last Feb, which she won :D , then had a w/o into semi-finals when venus withdrew yet chanda then withdrew herself before the semi  :( and hasn't been seen since.

does anyone know when Chanda is due back and what injury does she have that is keeping her out for so long? (I presume its her knee).Hurry back chanda, the tour needs you, and more importantly, the top 10 ranking needs your name :bounce: :bounce:

The Top 10 looks better with more Russians.

*waits for Nayshe to scold her*

nope, Americans are the way to go to make up the top 10 ranking, as we need Venus back in there too.we could also do with marissa irvin, angela (cute as a button)haynes and shenay perry making up the top 10. :hearts: hell, while we're at it, we might aswell throw amber liu in there too. if anything, a top 10 with americans is easier on the eyes than one with russians (with the exception of anna k  )

Head for the nearest Optromitist could be a slight eye problem there!

Well, it's time for young guns to shoot up the rankings now. She was the 2nd oldest (oldest: Sugiyama) in the top 10, and I dont think Ai can hold on much longer. Not to mention the 3rd oldest Capriati isnt all that well too. Maybe it's really time for a new generation of young Russians to come up and bump the old Americans out:)

I don't know about Americans being easier on the eye than players like Sharapova and Dementieva or Myskina...

I am surprised we haven't been hearing much about Chanda. She seems to have had her fair share of injuries throughout her career and then some. I hope she can come back and play well soon, for her sake.

chanda isn't old yet in tennis years, she is still only 28, she could have 4 good years left in her tennis career yet. after all, she has been a late bloomer. look at conchita, a 100 million moonballs later and she's got a second wind at 32 playing some good, if boring, tennis.

Young or old, it's all relative. I'm sure 28 is nothing when Martina and Steffi were ranked at their 30's or 40's. But now, 28 is not that young anymore. Plus, do you think Chanda can actually "bloom" at 28? There is only one Agassi. Chanda had a great career, and she'll be ranked well in the top 20 i'm sure after she comes back. I just think it's time. I'm sure she will be happy when she looks back what she has done.:)
