Good freakin' luck. You have to project the rankings AND consider the injuries.

These my guesses, but that's all they are. The only player with a good chance to win who I expect to miss it is Kim.

01 HENIN-HARDENNE - she'll play unless her doctor say she CAN'T
02 MAURESMO - Can they jump her that high? If she wins Rome or Berlin.
03 DAVENPORT
04 WILLIAMS, S - If Serena wins Rome. If not, she's 5 and Mykina is 4.

05 MYSKINA
06 PETROVA
07 DEMENTIEVA
08 CAPRIATI

09 WILLIAMS, V
10 ZVONAREVA
11 RUBIN
12 SUGIYAMA

13 SUAREZ
14 FARINA ELIA
15 SCHNYDER
16 MARTINEZ

You're assuming Clijsters is not playing RG??

he is, but you don't have to to make your list.

Justine, Kim, Amelie, Jenn, Serena and Venus could ALL miss it, but we hope that doesn't happen. Kim is the one with an injury that might get worse if she plays. All the others will limp out there if they can, except maybe Venus, if her leg problems flare up.

I don't think Venus is in doubt for RG. Jenn either. I wouldn't necessarily consider Serena or Amelie to be in doubt either. If Momo pulls out of Fed Cup and Warsaw, then maybe. Kim and Justine are the only ones I would tab as in doubt at this point.

faboozadoo15
Apr 21st, 2004, 03:14 AM
i guess the people who made their seeds don't think she'll play, and i can't really blame them. she's not committed anywhere yet.
i just have a strong feeling she'll play...

Won't Venus be seeded 4 because her protected seeding is 3 but since Amilie there she has to be seeded 4th, right?

Why would Venus be #5??Venus may have (the WTA will probably extend it with the FCC win) of 3, however since AMelie is playing she gets pushed to 4. JHH is a given at 1, but they could give Serena the two or three seed and Kim will get whatever is left. so the 1,2,3,4 are taken by Serena, JHH, Kim, ANd AMelie. If Serena was ranked number three, Venus would be seeded 4, but since Rena has dropped, and she has a high protected ranking she will push Venus down. Now if any of the 4 top seed withdraw, Venus would get the number 4 or higher. The french could however give Venus the number 4 seed if they wish too, but probably won't at Amelies expense. However Wimbledon will most likely give Venus the number 4 seed over Amelie if the rankings don't change at the top, because of her record there.

With all these injuries and Special Seedings, Lindsay can't be higher than 6, which is totally illogical when you watch her results in 2004.
I'm not anti-Williamses but this doesn't sound fair...

Do you think that they'll move VEE into the top four if she wins one of the Tier I clay tournies going into the FO(=)?

Nope, not if it's over Amelie.

The difference between #4 and #5
is meeting one of the top 3 seeds in
the Quater's or the Semi's.

They're gonna want the best possible placement for Amelie
to get to the finals. Forinstance, they'd rather have her possibly meet
JHH in the Semi's instead of the Quarter's.

Why do so many of you put Lindsay in that bad position of e. g. 6th seed? She is playing so well at the moment and she`ll do fine on clay, I think.

I don`t see three Russian girls in front of Jen! Doesn`t Venus get a special seeding?
