BREE, Belgium (AP) -- Lleyton Hewitt beat his fiancee Kim Clijsters 9-8 Saturday in a charity Love Match which marked the Belgian's return to court after being sidelined for a month with a wrist injury.

In front of a sellout crowd of 3,500 in Clijsters' hometown, Hewitt came back from 6-4 down to win the best-of-17-games lighthearted exhibition.

"I'm happy to be back on court and run," Clijsters said. Her left wrist was still heavily taped but at least the world No. 2 did not have to play with the brace she had been wearing for a month.

"I gave her a test," Hewitt said.

Clijsters moved freely around the clay court and seemed little hampered by the injury, although Hewitt rarely put her under serious pressure.

She hopes to make her official return to competition at next weekend's Fed Cup tie against Croatia, also in Bree

Please explain.well, she wore a big tape, a brace and only played slice backhands, Lleyton also tried to play as much as possible on her forehand...

Err, no. She couldn't have hit more than 10 backhands the entire game. Plus, her slice backhand might have improved, it's still not that good. Especially on clay, she'd get killed.

How was she able to play a match if she injured?
Please explain. She never used her left (injured) wrist. She didn't play a single two-handed backhand. Plus, Lleyton was hitting to her forehand as much as he could. If necessary she sliced her backhand. Slicing is done with one hand (in Kim's case, her right (and not injured)) hand.

explanation enough? :)

and you cannot play WTA matches with a big tape and a brace? :lol:Off course not  The girls on the WTA Tour are not Kim's boyfriend. They're her rivals and won't spare her. They will target her (at the moment non-existing) backhand and she can't slice her way out of it. In order to win matches Kim needs to use her left wrist and, even with a tape and a brace, her injury isn't allowing her that at the moment.

Then, for me its not a real match, because in real matches you don't spare each other !!!!!

Hon, it wasn't supposed to be a real match. It was an exhibition match for charity in which Kim and Lleyton were supposed to play one set. The audience came to have a fun evening, nobody expected them to take it seriously. If they would have, the match would have lasted 15 minutes and Lleyton would have won 8-0. Let's face it, Lleyton would easily beat Kim even if she wasn't injured. This way it was at least a really relaxed night for them and a lot of fun for the audience.

On Monday, Kim hosted another even in Bree, this time only for disabled kids. Anybody interested in seeing pictures, there are some on her web site (http://www.sport.be/kimclijsters/eng/info/fotos/)

Monday was even better than Saturday.
I was there to help (my mom works with disabled people).

I've never seen more genuine happy people together. Kim had time for all of them: a kiss here, a hug there, smiling, waving,...
There was even a woman who did the splits and all 3000 of them went crazy. It was just great to see, they had the day of their life.
They also could as Kim some questions: why are you injured? How much did you train? When's the wedding?:p

Afterwards, there was a concert from Spring, a famous 'kidspop'band in Flanders.

Everyone got a nice present when they left.
Those who were there, won't forget it soon (and those who were there Saturday won't either!:p)
