Conchita def. Venus 6-4, 6-2

Let's not forget that Conchita is 32 years old, yet she still pushed Venus to 3 sets today. We saw a few flashes of her former self and we saw that she could litterally overpower Venus if she wanted. But her body can't keep up because she's not as young as Venus. Conchita's forehand was only second to Graf when she truly hits it. And the slice backhand would drive Venus crazy. Plus, Conchita used to serve consistantly over 100 mph, not like now with only slices. And of course, Conchita has more shots and can use the court in excellent ways. She thinks on the court.

The only thing Venus does better is power on the serve, but on clay it's not as important.

That was as good as Conchi CAN play on clay. If you saw the interviews during the match, she said herself she feels in 'top five' form right now. That's a quote.

Venus beat her. So, at their best, Venus beats her. On clay.

What's your problem? Conchita has more titles then Venus overall, and her career on clay has been EXCEPTIONAL. She has tons of big titles on clay. She's a clay court specialist to some extent. The fact that she took a set off Venus today at 32 years old proves my point.

And I have no problem saying that Venus would win their meetings on faster surfaces. But on clay, Conchita at her peak would bitchslap Venus, it's the truth.

Conchita: " I feel like I am top 5 Player!" At her best and Venus' best, Venus wins on clay, Thus Todays Result.

Venus at her best is WAY better than Conchita, so clay or no clay Venus will win.

Is that why Venus has a better winning percentage on the clay?? ;)
