Does anybody know when the draw will be?

Boy I can't wait for this to start! I really think this is exactly what Misa needs to start climbing up the WTA rankings! I bet that once she gets that first win under her belt, she will launch herself into the top 300 at least this year! She has the weapons, it's just a confidence thing. :)

This was format
Format: Fourteen (14) teams are scheduled to compete in Group I and will be drawn into four Round Robin pools, Pool A with three (3) teams, Pool B with four (4) teams, Pool C with three (3) teams and Pool D with four (4) teams. Teams seeded 1 and 2 will be placed in Pools A and C.
Round Robin Ties will be played from Monday-Friday.
The following Ties will be played on Saturday:
The teams that finish first in Pools A and B will be drawn to play the teams that finish second in Pools C and D. The teams that finish first in Pools C and D will be drawn to play the teams that finish second in Pools A and B. This will determine which four teams will be promoted to the 2004 World Group Play Offs in July.
The teams that finish in last position in Pools A and B will be drawn to play the teams that finish in last position in Pools C and D. The losers of these Ties will be demoted to Group II in 2005. However, the winners of these Ties may also be demoted to Group II in 2005, depending on the number of teams in the 2005 Fed Cup competition.

I agree with you when I look at group A, B & C. Although I hope that the Netherlands do better than 3rd place in there group. I think that Greece is tough one to beat. They have Eleni Daniilidou. Besides that they have a strong doublesteam (Eleni Daniilidou & Christina Zachariadou). That´s why I think that Greece will be the winner of group D (1. Greece, 2. Estonia, 3. Bulgarije, 4. Poland).

Playoff matches:
Servia & Montenegro - Estonia
Israel - Belarus
Hungary - Sweden
Greece - Ukraine

Servia & Montenegro, Israel, Hungary and Greece will promote.

 Hanna

Swede tennis fed has put since weeks ago Asa as #1 player, then Sofia, Hanna and Nadja. I wouldn't be surprised if they put her as #1 in the team, she has had anyways a better year than Sofia even though both suck now.

Anyways this is speculation, and I hope Sofia plays as #1 cos that point is lost anyways, hopefully there is a rule where you have to go by rank, if not I wouldn't be surprised to see Svensson as player #1.

I only wish Ana Ivanović was on the team instead of Timotić. Ana T won't be playing doubles and Ivanović is better than her in singles, 6-1 6-1 trashing in Mallorca final proves it.

oh well let's see what's remaining...

On Wednesday we play vs Greece

Pironkova def. Zachariadou (can she  :help: :tape: )
Karatancheva def. Daniilidou (I'm sure she will :D :yeah: )
Doubles (:scared: )

On Thursday we play vs Poland

Pironkova def. Jans (she better do it :o)
Karatancheva def. Sakowicz (of course she will :p)
Doubles (:scared: )

so maybe after all our chances are still not that bad
Everything depends on Sesil's win over Daniilidou and the doubles matches :scared:

but I'm so furious.... Pironkova had to win only this match vs Ani... she should have been somehow more concentrated on it   :bigcry:

I can't even imagine she'll lose to Zachariadou or Jans... but we'll see

Good luck :)

look at the win-loss records for doubles matches:

i'm not sure Pironkova can defeat both Zachariadou and Jans
what???
if she doesnt win this two matches she better retire from tennis.....
it will be one of the most shocking things that could happen... both Zachariadou and Jans are outside Top 400..... they haven't achieved anything special in their careers... and Pironkova has lost to a player ranked below her only 4 times for the last 3 years .... the last one in September 2003 when she lost to Sesil...

Alek, I read Jelena Jankovic's comment: I beat Arvidsson easily in AO junior final and Carlsson isn't playing for them now, so we have a great chance to beat them.
Also in team selections it was Arvidsson, Nooni, Roma and Johansson for Sweden.

I read in the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter today, that Åsa has some minor injury in her heel, and that the Swedish captain doesn't want to risk to make it worse by let her playing.
