Do you think the Golden Globes anticipated the Oscars this year?

I did't see Grosford Park, but I bet A beautiful mind, will be the winner.

I voted for LOTR, though I`m positive it will take its Oscar later, after the last part will be introduced in 2003.

Ive only seen Lord Of The Rings. The OScars usually go for big sprawling epics in the best picture category so LOTR will propably win.

Anyway, I dont really care what happens in other categories, as long as Jennifer Connelly gets her supporting actress award for A Beautiful Mind  :o

I've only seen Lord of the Rings and A Beautiful Mind and I LOVED both. :hearts:

I hope A Beautiful Mind wins because not only because it was an amazing film but it touched me personally. I'm very close to someone who suffers from biploar disorder and I know how debilitating mental illness can be. It's a subject matter that receives far too little attention and support.

I'm also rooting for Russell Crowe, Ron Howard, and Jennifer Connelly. Amazing film with incredible performances.

I want Russel Crowe to win too:hearts:

Sissy Spacek, Judy Dench(one of my faves) and Son of the bride for Foreing language film:kiss:

I like Russel, too, but I don't think he will win his 2nd Oscar this year. The movie may win, but I won't bet on it. Moulin Rouge has also chances ti win. I voted for MR.

I hope Denzel wins. He's such a good actor - its almost laughable that he hasn't been awarded the highest honour in his field yet.

As for the best movie - I've only seen LOTR and it was magnificent.

I can see it winning, though I hear a Beautiful mind is just wonderful, so who knows.

I don't think it'll win, but Gosford Park was actually very good and I wouldn't be surprised if Maggie Smith won best supporting actress for her performance, she was very funny :)

Out of those 5, I've only watched Moulin Rouge. The movie kicks ass, but since it's the "Oscar", if you know what I mean  , The Lord Of The Rings will likely win.

Just look at the hype that involves LTR and you'll get the idea ;)

I watch Gosford Park, Moulin Rouge and In the Bedroom (and will watch LOTR very soon) I have to say Gosford Park has a long shot, but can definitely pull an upset, it is not to everyone taste, but I am sure academy love this film. I cannot see why people like In the Bedroom so much, seems like a mediocre melodrama to me although the acting is great. Moulin Rouge is also good, but I cannot see how Nicole Kidman can win the best actress for that (as oppose to The Others where she has a much greater chance) and since she is not gonna pull it off, Moulin Rouge has no chance at the best picture at all (since Best picture usually has to has a director winner (in which Baz is not nominated) or a Best actor/actress award to win).

I have to say that, Moulin Rouge is a nice musical, but it is not going to win not beacuswe this is the Oscars, THe film is nice, but not great, i love it in some ways, but it is not THE MOVIE:p

Beatiful mind is far the best movie of those.

For me, the best movies I ve seen in the last year was The Others and Hannibal, but they are not nominated:sad:

Of course Lord of the rings will win, because it's the Oscar... the most commercial movie wins an Oscar, not the best one. And that's really sad!

But I'm not loosing my hope and want MOLIN ROUGE to win it!

MAY THE BEST MOVIE WIN!!! AND THAT IS
MOULIN ROUGE

I've seen all of them apart from Grosford Park and I think that LOTR will win.

Personally I enjoyed Moulin Rouge more though.
