Yeah, it was incredible! I can't believe that judge from Iceland - obviously biased! You can't tell me those marks weren't inflated!!!

:)

Sorry, I just had to go there.

LOL, angele87!

Of course I did see ALEXEI changing backstage, but I like him first of all as a skater. He is a handsome young man, yes; but he's skating skills are just magnificent. I can't find the words to express myself... Have you seen him last year at the world championships? Have you watched him skate during the past years? He's the greatest skater of our time, no doubt about it.

By the way: do you know how Alexei started to learn to skate?
His mother had to do a lot of work at home in Sankt Petersburg and Alexei has been a naughty little boy.:) In order to have some time for doing the housekeeping, Alexei's mother took him to the skating arena and left him there for 2-3 hours. That was the beginning...

Nina_rus, Plushenko could not skate perfect yesterday because he has been ill (sore-throat and high fever).

After all the controversy and bad feelings, it was nice to see the figure skaters so happy. It gave me a good feeling.

Sarah Hughes skate was a little eye-rolling. She had a self-recorded cutesy-cheesy monologue bit played and then skated to "You Will Never Walk Alone" as a dedication to September 11. Dear Lord. Not only was it boring and lacked any emotion, but she wore the same outfit she performed her Long Program in.

Still, it wasn't as tacky as that Ice Dancing pair in competition who wore slashed clothes and had streaks of white in their hair. Apparently, they were interpreting the events of September 11 through dance. The slashed clothes represented, well, something. And the streaks of white in their hair represented the dust that people were covered in as they fled the buildings. That skate was during the Ice Dancing competition a few days ago. But still, it was

Michelle Kwan was brought to tears by the reception she received from the crowd after skating to "Fields of Gold." It really was moving. She was graceful as ever.

As Michelle left the ice, she was hugged by Jamie Sale. I thought that was touching. But then as Michelle left, Jamie Sale turned to David Pelletier and rolled her eyes at him. :(

But the Canadian pair totally rocked the house with their skate! Great music. Great playfulness.

Irina Slutskaya skated to "Old Pop In An Oak" by the Rednex, complete with cowgirl outfit and lasso. I was surprised at how fun she could be outside of competition. If they allowed this sort of music and costume in competition, her artistry marks would improve.

Marina Anissina and Gwendel Pizeret had a great number too. They crowd voluntarily got involved, so caught up were they in the music and the skaters' interpretation. It was good.

Yevgeny Plushenko skated to yet another version of "Carmen." I think it was the third interpretation by a skater during the entire competition. But he did have nice swept-back hair for a change. The mullet was gone! Yay.

I didn't quite understand Alexei Yagudin's skate but it appeared to be dramatic, and he showed off his performing skills effectively. He even humped the ice a couple of times. Now that was worth watching. ;)

That was about all they showed on the Australian TV coverage. I would've liked to have seen Maria Berezhnaya and Anton Sikhuralidze, and also Timothy Goebel, but they didn't show them. Neither of the Silver and Bronze medallists in the Ice Dancing were shown either. What were those performances like?

Aloysius,

Irina and Anton were not interpreting the events of September 11th on the ice. No way. I mean the ones who won silver in the ice-dance competition.

Marina and gwendal's program was nice, but boring to watch the same program again. They showed it last year at the worldchampionships, too.

Alexei Yagudin's program was a combination of his short program and his long one. A perfect combination of elements and everything...

Maria and Anton made a great show. They played 2 children and then they showed a part of their long program of the last year's world championships: Charlie Chaplin. Just great!

Timothy Goebbel skated on "American Pie", the original version.

bye!

marina and gwendal had a good performance, but it wasn't a new one. We've watched it last year at the WC, too.
As olympic champions, they should have presented a new performance.

My fave programs of the night were Elena and Anton's chaplin program and Jamie and David's rocking the boogie... i've seen both programs a million times but I still love them! Also I liked at the very end where they did the death spiral together, it was cool... also I really like Irina's program... it's nice to see her just out there having fun.

I found Sarah Hughes' performance a bit eye rolly. I was boring too with no emotion. *yawn*

I didn't like the Canadians one. It wasn't rocking it was just......kinda stupid. The music wasn't fast enough and it didn't flow. They kept stopping, would've been better if the music was continuously moving.

Michelle's was beautiful!!! I loved it. I love the song so that also halped. I just thought it was wonderful.

Alexei, he was great! I loved it when he did the 'moon walk' thing. And the way his legs move. He's superb.

The other guy was great too.

That Russian chick, Irina, her's was good......I liked it.

The best one of all though was the Ice Dancing. I have never seen it before so I thought it was great and I love the song!!! Was the audience singing along to the song? Because it sounded like it. Anyway this one was my fave.

I didn't get to see the other's. Stupid Australian tv didn't show it! :fiery:
