My best friend since we were 8 told me today that he thinks he's gay. He asked botu how can I be sure and I don't know how to answer this someone help me. I did tell him that whatever happens I will still be his friend. How do I answer to the question on how to be sure?

just tell him that you knew all along... and you didn't care. that will be enough for him to believe you and trust you!

good luck! and oh, yea, good for you for being open minded.:wavey:

Do you mean how does he know if hes gay?

If so isn't it quite obvious that he feels attracted to men.

The best reaction I've ever heard to that circumstance is:

Person A : "I'm gay"
Person B : "So."

Good for you for supporting him. It takes a lot of courage to come out because one never knows what the reaction will be, and you reassuring him that you'll always be friends regardless will mean a lot to him.

As far as how does he know for sure if he's gay...if he has to ask himself or you that question, then he probably is.

To be honest, I think it is more likely that your friend is gay, and is either having difficulty coming to terms with it himself, or is afraid of your (and other peopleīs) reactions. "I think I might be gay" can be remedied by "Oh, no Iīm not, itīs OK" if you get yourself burnt by a bad reception. Thereīs no way back from "I AM gay".

If you wanna PM me, please do - I have "some" expreience in these matters;)

Whether or not one is gay doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of yhings. What matters is what kind of person you are, how you lead your life and whether or not you are happy. Tell him to be the kind of person he can respect and to be happy. If he can manage that, then all will be okay!

well done to your friend for being brave enough to say something! it takes alot of strength to do that!

Well maybe he's confused, and is bi or something. "I think" is just a presumption, but maybe this is his way of telling you because he doesn't know how you would react.
