remarkable...it was just last month while I was skiing in Denver asking my friends what is wrong with Janica?--i know the operations needed time to get back in form but figured she could have been ready to win by then--well now is then and then is now as the best in the world is back where she belongs...

Janica je najbolja :)

This is really great for Janica and for Croatia :) Nobody expected this will happen. All Croatia is very proud of Janica. May Ivica Kostelic will win one more medal for Croatia in slalom :)

Congrats, Janica. You have written history these last 2 weeks. And since she is only 20 she had many chances for more gold. Certainly in turin 2006.

So how does this compare to the reception Goran got when he won Wimbledon?

When she arrives home will she be a nationaly hero too?

i hope so - she sure deserves it for what she's done :)

I only wish I didn't hear "Janika" on the radio every day

What is even more remarkable is how wisely the beginning of the season was organized by her and her father. Perfect timing and patience indeed.

Yes, Becca, she is already a national hero. Janica is a little bit afraid to go back home because of this. She knows what happend to Goran when he came home after winning Wimbledon. She will enjoy it, of course, but it is too much for her. Too many emotions... but she'll like it. I am sure about it! I can hardly wait to see her arrival in Croatia... :)
