Could sponsors, the tour, and her agents have pressured her to return before she was fully "fit" to play?
Serena cameback when she was fully fit and ready, and her results speak for themselves, while Venus has seemed unprepared, and tenative as if she knew she wasn't ready

Frankly, Venus has always struck me as doing things according to her own schedule. Moreover, I've come to believe that Serena is simply a better tennis player than her older sister. Serena has shown throughout her career the ability to win with little tennis in her. Venus has always needed a few tournaments to get her rhythm. I personally think Venus will be dangerous come the Grand Slam season. As for Serena's win last week, I'm not sure what to make of it. Her draw was a piece of cake. If she wins Amelia Island or even reaches the final, I'll assume that she is her old self and ready to dominate again. Wouldn't it be great if she and Henin are at top form this summer, along with all the other players?

I still maintain that tis the nature of injury that allows for how much a player can pratise while away. But you are right about Venus needing more practise/matchplay to get her rhythm back. Look at jen, she too relies on match play to do well but unfortunately for her, sounds like an injury that won't go away!
