I discovered that some of you tip that Monica Seles returns before the French. I don´t think it would be wise to return in the star-crowded Italian event but don´t you think it´s a bit of problem to return just for Straßbourg with just one week left before the BIG Grand Slam event ?

Anyone who knows what her ranking will be like ? I think they´ll use a fixed ranking as an "entry key" but that has nothing to do with a seed, right ? The rule to create an injury ranking that counts for entry AND ranking/seed-purpose was just created for Lindsay, Steffi and both the Williams, right ? For Testud, f.e., it wasn´t used at the beginning of the year, am I right ? Or would Seles get a co-ranking for seeding-purpose as someone said here (no18 ?!).

Regarding AnnaK - IF she returns - I think she should return in some US hardcourt events and AVOID playing the Grand Slam event just for the purpose of not causing any high expectations. If she manages to win some rounds in the US, she could easily play 1-2 indoor events and re-start the tour 2005.

Anna K - Nothing but Tier V's til she wins one.

Monica - Is she back? Or just back for more cash? If she's serious, Palermo would be a good choice. If she's not a top 16 seed, I don't see playing Rome or Berlin as a good idea.

Seles should receive a special seeding just like the Williams' and like when she came back after the stabbing...

Seles back for more cash? What a truly ugly thing to say. How is she going to make the cash if she doesn't win matches?

I don't think Monica will receive a special seeding, though she might. She said she doesn't think she'll be ready for competition until Strasbourg, obviously a bit late to expect to do well at the French, but if she can't start till then, she can't start till then. She may not even make it back by then.

If she were feeling ready to compete, I would suggest she play Warsaw and rome, but she said she's only hitting an hour a day right now, easing back slowly into form, so I don't think that's really an option.

Anna should play qualifiying of a indoor tournament at the end of the year if she feels she is ready. But there is no point in her being given a WC cos she would draw a seed in the first round and loose.

I would like her to play at Birmingham though ;)

Anna - Grass, maybe the Ordina Open Qualies, or the ITF tournament up in England right before Wimbledon.

Anna - Vienna qualies or some grass ITF

Monica - Strasbourg should be perfect for her. If not there then possibly Helsinki. It's a small clay tournament after RG, so there wouldn't be much pressure on her. And with her IPR of 18, she would be a high seed there.
