I think Serena will win 6-3 or 6-2, 6-2 if she plays the way she played tonight.

Screw that... just say K-Lina will win, even though we know she won't. :p

what i'm hoping for is that k-lina gets a high percentage of first serves in. she's winning about 80% of her first serve points for the tournament so maybe she can win 60-70% of them vs. serena...

You have to favor Serena heavily...but that shouldn't stop people from rooting for Sprem.

Don't know enough about her to be a fan, but here's hoping she can at least make it interesting!

I think Serena may be challenged tomorrow, but if she plays like she did today, goodbye! :)

I too wish i could see Sprem play...what is her game like- the same as the other youngins?the only time i've seen her play is when she lost badly to Daniilidou last week, so maybe not the best match to judge her on, but i liked her backhand :)

yeah, she didn't play too well vs. eleni

when she is on, k-lina's first serve is a major weapon because she can get a high percentage of serves in at 105+ mph (which she hasn't done yet, although she did hit 9 aces today against a pretty good returner). Her groundstrokes are powerful, esp. her backhand. Great mover. Her weakness is her second serve (which seems to be getting better) and the fact that she doesn't have too much experiance playing these big matches.

I am excited by this match up too. We will see what this Sprem girl is made of? Am I right in thinking this is the first time Karolina has played a big name player?

She's played 2 top 10ers before... beat Dokic (03 Strasbourg), lost to Myskina in 3 (Fed Cup)

Dokic  Seems like everyone has a win against her these days.

By big name player, I actually meant a former slam champion. So, this match will be exciting for Karolina.

Hard not to pick Serena here. I just hope Karolina doesn't get too nervous and that she plays a good match. A year ago Karolina was ranked in the 160s and had yet to win her first main draw match so whatever happens, it will be a great learning experience for her. Still, a fan can hope for the unlikely upset.

I hope K-lina will be able to make a match out of it.
I do think Sprem is a player that can give rena trouble with her good movement and angles....

If K-Lina is not nervous...this could be a very good match...
Rena can't overpower her...
K-Lina can throw in shots with lots of diff spins/angles and she has a great serve

I just want her to have a good showing, win or lose. This match will help her see where her game is and what she needs to work on to compete with the top ten.

Sprem impressed me with her easy win against the experienced Maleeva. So I think she will have the oppuritinity to trouble Serena, at least one set!

I can only hope Sprem beats Serena, but it will remain an illusion, I'm afraid.

I hope Serena wins, and i'm pretty confident that she will. K-Lina will be tough on clay, but if Serena plays like she did against Pierce, Sprem will have no chance.
