View Full Version : Why are the Serra-Zanetti sisters going downhill?

Outside the Williams and Clijsters sisters, the only other real intriguing sister story, (for the moment anyway since the Uberois are slowly making a splash) have been Italy's Adriana and Antonella Serra Zanetti.

Niether player seems to be Italy's best bet for success, but I was intrigued when they where doing somewhat well and both had been in the top 100.

When I saw the ranking today I was shocked at how much they have sank in the rankings. First Adriana seemed to move down after her Australian Open result a few years ago, and now Antonella seems to have done the thing, and is now ranked lower than older sis is.

Anybody know what has happened to these two and do you think they can get it together and at least be back in the top 100?

Anca and Adriana Barna :fiery:

They are both at career-best rankings this week :bigclap: (although Anca keeps losing right now :o)

But Adriana is not talked about very much, not even on here.

I know. But in a thread about sisters, I have to bring them up. ;)

Adriana SZ has done nothing since that AO quarterfinal. (had she done anything before that? :o)
Antonella SZ - I think she's doing OK because she's not that good. :o

they are not going downhill, they never were at the top of the hill.

Not all sisters are good like the Williams, Kim is good, Elke sucks, in the case of the Serra-Zanetti, they both suck and they always have.

Guys start another thread about sisterhood. This thread is about why Italy's famous sisters are falling in the rankings.

Thanks:kiss:

their fall is interesting to me..they never had much game, and probably never will, so why the sudden drop? they were always fairly consistent winning a match or 2 each week...often at challengers
its just weird how players with such little game could actually be in a slump
i like them both though

They can probably make it back in the top 100.

I think Adriana's top 50 place two years ago was a case of her having one great year. Doubt she can make it that far again but you never know.

Are Dally and Natacha Randrianteffy sisters? I am assuming they are because they are both from Madagascar.
