View Full Version : Do you think Barbara Schwartz will cause a major upset in 2004 ?

She´s one of the hottest darkhorses if being healthy

Given the fact she gave Graf a 3setter at the Australian, won against Venus in Paris and took Seles to a fight at the USOpen - returning this time - will she do a great thing already in French Open and Wimbledon or just 2005 ?

Don´t you think her lefty-style is great for grass ?

She is the type of player nobody wants to face she gives you no rhythm to worth with, the inexperienced would loathe playing her

She´s the kind of player you hope for that -having coped with injuries- she does not face problems in playing lower ranked players given the fact everybody expects great things from her

If you consider Schett being in a major slump and she returns now it won´t be easy facing lower ranked players. She did return in the beginning of the year in fact but not so brilliantly which is normal after such a time-out

Babsi causing a big upset would not be too suprising. What would be a huge surprise is if she could stay injury free for the remainder of the year. Poor Babsi has had so many injuries during her career that her ranking has never reflected her true ability. Glad to see her back. I hope she does well.

I just love the gamestyle of Babsi Schwartz. She´s a real hardhitter and has no mercy with her opponents. Although her movement isn´t that well, I still believe in her. If she can stay injury-free, she will be a big threat to many topplayers.

I am definitely one that says never say never when it comes to a down and out player, but when it comes to Barbara, I am beginning to wonder if all of her injury woes have allowed the latest generation of players pass her by?

It's already been a few years since her last big hurrah on court and like somebody said in another post, she has shown at most in 2004 a lot of inconsistency.

I agree she has a game that could frustrate tons of players. Being a lefty, her unique style is very dangerous to those not used to that style of tennis.

Anyway how is her injury? I thought her elbow was bothering her again?

Sadly she hasn't done shit since she's been injured. I remember watching her play Monica at the US Open, she has a nice game. Hopefully she can do something.
