Is the Draw. (originally posted by Dinarasafinafan)

Looks like a pretty good draw. Huber is another veteran doubles player, so should team well with Martina N. I don't think it'll happen, but it'd be nice if Casanova/Molik pick up the upset! Nice to see Sprem playing some doubles, her only other event in the last year was 2003 Bol where she lost in the first round with another croatian (Kostanic I believe) so hopefully she can do better here and win a round or two. Petrova and Shaughnessy are a good team in the top half of the draw, but don't know if they can take out Suarez/Pascual on clay. Conchita and Likky as well as Dechy and Mauresmo are dangerous floaters in that top half!

PS, let's get some kind of discussion going about this....doubles is hardly ever talked about on this board (or anywhere for that matter)!

Lindsay and Corina might as well be handed the trophy now.

Thatīs right. I was expecting to see Maleeva playing with Huber if Sugiyama isnīt there, but I can understand that she prefered Martina N!
But wh didnīt you partner Elena again Maggie???

Since Nadia/Meghann beat the top two seeds in Miami, they should have a chance here.

Maleeva? Where is Maleeva in that draw?

Wonder about Martinez and Husarova split, Likhovtseva/Navratilova would have been nice...

Huber/Navratilova won Sarasota last year in the same week and they're "defending champion" in this tournament

I don't think Stubbs has had any good results lately....is it her dropping off, or just not finding a good partner?

i think its maybe she hasnt been able to find that good of a partner, but really cara black is a good partner, but honestly like at every event this year they have ran into Lindsay and Corina and lost

Vera/Lina are dangerous floaters too ;) :hearts:

I think Dechy/Mauresmo might be in with a shot to make the final. If they're playing well they could get past Paola/Vivi. Navratilova/Huber will probably lose to Lindsay/Corina which is a pity...

Conchita and Husarova haven't split... Jeanette is in Casablanca....
Good to see Conchi teaming with Elena... ironically I like together but I hope they met in the Olympic final in opposite sides of the court with Conchi winning :bounce:

That's not the case at all actually. Cara & Rennae have lost to Lindsay & Corina once this year.

Cara & Rennae have actually won two titles already this season. They won the tier 1 in Tokyo and the tier 2 in Sydney. They just had a disappointing showing in the two major events so far, the Australian Open & Miami.
