I remember when I was about 12 years old and I saw a "Past Hit" and it was Tanya Tucker and her song "Save Me"...I was horrified at the time.

For those unaware, the song showed the brutal murder of Baby Harp seals for our own benefit...I Then and there became more aware of everything about me, let it be enviromental or political or neighbhourly....Was their a song that made you aware??

Um with me it would be

Rip Rip Woddchip by John Williamson (About the logging of trees obviously)
If a tree falls by Bruce Cockburn (Logging of trees again)
Woman in Chains by Tears for Fears featuring Oleta Adams (About a victim of abuse)
Saltwater by Julian Lennon (About our planet slowing dying due to the greenhouse affect and other issues)

All four songs were released within a year or so of each other
