Tzveti is about to lose and I am so fucking upset, I dislike Jelena, I have never hated a tennis player but I can I say I really dislike that girl Tzveti would have been # 54 had she won:(
This is so dissapointing:( She had it, she would have won it in two

Is Tzveti scheduled to go to any of the remaining events or was this her last one of the year?

Nidalgina
Oct 17th, 2006, 08:27 PM
Споко, нищо толкова страшно не се е случило, какво да се прави като Янкович е доста костелива и не се предава лесно, докато Цвети има още доста да поработи върху психиката си. Ще се поучи от грешките си и следващия път очакваме да я разбие ;)

here is what LafandePatty said about the match

Well I only watched the 3rd set but that was a great one!!

You know that was so close!! Pironkova missed some occasions, she could have been leading 4-1 in the 3rd for sure..

Jankovic hit really hard but Pironkova sometimes even more, so there were some AMAZING winners, really. bad luck with the draw for Pironkova. I'm sure she could have won 1-2 matchs with a better draw..

1r - 1
2r - 7
QF - 14,5
SF - 24,5
F - 38,5
W - 55

So if Tsveti wins 5 matches in a row in Bratislava it would give her more points than winning 5 matches in a row in Hasselt ;)

btw, congrats to Tsveti for her new career high ranking of 64 this week :yeah: ;) :)

If Tzveti wins this tournament, not putting any pressure on her and rank points stay as they are ( looks like they will except for Oprandi and maybe Vesnina rising), Tzveti will have 456.25 points making her the new #46 in the world.
Another career high and a debut in the top 50, so lets keep our fingers crossed and hope Tzveti does good here, we could be looking at top 50 year end finnish.

Hey my fellow Tzveti fans, I just want to prepare you for the worst, Tzveti is losing 6-7 3-4*, after leading 4-1 in the first set, it doesn't look good and she has already withdrawn from Hasselt.
This might be the end of the year.

Of course the season was good :)

Tsveti had great wins over Venus, Na Li, Srebotnik, Safarova, Groenefeld, Castano and made an improvement of more than 30 places in the rankings (so far) BUT she couldn't do what Sesil did last year ... to play one perfect tournament - like Sesil did at Roland Garros (without it I doubt Sesil would have entered Top 60)

Tsveti had perfect chances to gain some big WTA points at the Grand Slams, beating Jankovic in Stuttgart or Zurich or atleast making the final in Stockholm. An uncomfortable stat is also that Tsveti managed to win only 2 matches this year after losing the first set (vs Venus and vs Groenefeld)

I agree with Maryam and Ghosts and I also think Tsveti had a great year.It is only her 2nd year on the WTA tour so it's normal she isn't consistent yet.I think that with time, she will get accustomed to the rythm of the Tour and learn how to win several matchs in a row.I am confident about Tsveti's future and I think she will keep improving :bounce: :bounce:

I completely agree with everything. Its only her second season after all;), and she has moved up, but I want her to live up to her potential, some of the matches I have watched her play this year have been amazing, she has amazed me and she has won my heart. That is why when she loses to someone with less potential than her, with less experience or power it really gets me:sad: . I believe in her, I would say she has become my favorite player currently on the tour and I am sure next year we will see her achieving some great results and entering the top 30. I love you Tzveti, your one special girl;) . Good luck in the next tournament.

Доминика Цибулкова спечели турнира, а и да не забравяме, че игра пред родна публика, така че нека не съдим Цвети толкова много :)
А Диа също нямаше много шанс като се има предвид, че турнира беше спечелен от Каролин Возняцки :)

Here is a report I found about the match
seems Tsveti had really bad luck on Friday

ITF tournament in Bratislava, 75.000 USD

1/4 final: Cibulkova def. Pironkova 7:6(6), 6:4

One of the best matches of this tournament. Both girls played very well, hitting the ball hard from the baseline. In first set Dominika was down 0-2, 1-2, 1-3 and 1-4, but she came back to 5 all and 6 all respectivelly. In the tie-break Tsveti led after a two minibreaks 3-2. Next, she lost her serve at 4 all, but she broke Domi twice and led 6-5. Domi is a great fighter, she broke Pironkova back to 6 all and again to 6-7 and won the first set. In 2nd set Domi was broken in first (0-1) and fifth game (2-3), but always she hold on with her aggresive play. Finally, she converted her first match point at Pironkovas serve (*30-40). For me it was a dramatic a high-quality match. Tsveti lost, but in both sets it was very close.

Match history
1st set (CP to serve first): *1-0, 2-0*, *2-1, 3-1*,*4-1, 4-2*, *5-2, 5-3*, *5-4, 5-5*, *6-5, 6-6*
Tie-break (CP to serve first): *1-0, 2-0*, 2-1*, *2-2, *3-2, 3-3*, 3-4*, *4-4, *4-5, 5-5*, 6-5*, *6-6, *6-7, 6-8*

2nd set (DC to serve first): *0-1, 1-1*, *2-1, 2-2*, *2-3, 3-3*, *4-3, 4-4*, *5-4, 6-4*

in it she says she's playing Gold Coast as her first tournament in 2007 :)
no time to translate the interview but here some highlights from it :wavey:

She doesn't think her biggest win this year was over Venus, but she'll remember it as her first over a Top 10 player. She thinks she needs to improve some technical elements of her game plan and to try to be more patient on court ... "Good things happen slowly".

Laine made QF of IW? Never, it was 4r, because Pennetta retired in the 3rd after leading 1-0 or 2-0   - yeah, thats something what Czink never can do  :yeah:

And now? Czink made the F Canberra 05 and SF Bangalore 06....what has Oprandi done after this Rome? She lost in early rounds very often or played QF's on challengers....:p - and at Wimbledon she had again no chance to Kuznetsova...

For sure, thats also right, but losing so close at the beginning of the year isnt that tragic, you saw: She lost 0-6,4-6 to Laine last year and beat a Venus Williams 9-7 in the third one or two weeks later. Tsvetana has much more potential than Czink, I know, but yeah, Czink isnt that bad player IMO. The season is still so long and there so many chances...I think she get this problem to lose against worser players under control in the course of time...maybe she beats this year Sharapova at the AO   :p :hearts:

She should beat Akiko Morigami normally. Morigami is maybe better on this surface, but Tsvetana is the much better player for sure. 06 she learned from her bad loss to Laine and beat Venus Williams 2-6,6-0,9-7 - and a Venus Williams is another league than a Akiko Morigami:lol:

Clijsters? I think it would be good, because there she can see where is at the moment and with it she holds her result from 2006....and against Clijsters she comes on TV and plays on a big court - she likes big courts:p

lenavee they're playing Dementieva/Pennetta now are you still cheering them on? :p

Well it will be tough since both havenp't proven to be great Doubles players but I think they've a little chance :D

Tszveti playing the doubles last match on one of the outside courts today, it was suspended due to rain yesterday. It will definatley be later on because lena is playing singles 3rd on Vodafone which is just retarded scheduling IMO :o, anyway Tszveti's chances of winning are now raised because of this as lena will prob be tired

Sharapova's Boy was kind to tell me about the r1 match vs Bammer/Birnerova :wavey:
here's his brief report :)

Eva/Sybille played really aggressive and traidtional doubles - attacking the net, serving and volleying, etc. They both crossed a lot, and generally looked like the better team, but just made too many errors, and Eva became really, really frustrated.

Tsveti played the backhand side while Martina played the forehand. They didn't really have any chemistry, or undertanding between them. Neither of them ever crossed, and pretty much just played their own games.

I was quite impressed with Tsveti though. I had never seen her play before, and she was hitting the ball quite well. Was a bit surprised to see she had lost to Morigami, because she was hitting her groundstrokes really well.

I'm pretty sure her Mum and sister where there, as I'd hear ''Davai and Ajde Tsveti'' coming from the older woman, while the younger one who resembled Tsveti was clapping and supporting Tsveti.

But yeah, they just were more consistent, whereas Bammer/Birnerova just really self-destructed, particulary Eva.

She is a very pretty and cute girl, plus she is uber fiesty, she's not afraid to have a go with the top players, her against Sharapova would be  with Tszveti winning

Tsveti's draw at Gaz de France 07 :)

(1) Radwanska vs. (WC) Radovanovic
Pous Tio vs. Lisjak
Zakopalova vs. Flipkens
Nagy vs. (5) Pironkova

r1 probably will not be vs Kyra tho
she's in Ortisei doubles semis and I doubt she'd withdraw just to play Tsveti :p

or could they probably postpone the match for Sunday

anyway good luck Tsveti and let's hope for the first win of the season vs Nagy or vs an alternate :p

How far did Tsveti get in Paris 2006?

2nd round as a qualifier

q1 def. S. Klashcka 6-4, 6-2
q2 def. M. Johansson 6-2, 6-2
q3 def. P. Parmentier 6-1, 6-2
R32 def. L. Safarova 6-2, 2-6, 6-0
R16 lost to P. Schnyder 2-6, 4-6
