She is so unpredictable, just like Karolina who could also lose to Marosi.

i'm not an active fan of Tsvetana Pironkova but when i see her fans, I understand why !!
I'm not sur that it's Tsvetana who is pathetic but i think ... it's you !! You are great fans of her to speak like this !!! I think that you are fans only when she wins !!

YOU ARE PATHETIC !!!!!

COME ON Tsvetana

Guys you are hopeless. Every time she loses you acted like the worst supporters that I know. Do you think she is happy to lose? She's young, she's improving and we saw it this year with hers great results at Rome and Istanbul. You have only one great player in Bulgaria and you treat her like this, it's sad, really sad.

This will be a hard result for her to accept; She had got into the top 50 a month or two ago, but for her to stay there she needs to win these sorts of matches. Might be a mental thing with playing these sorts of players.

Karolina must be the next Justine Henin if she beats that tennis monster Marosi :p

Now seriously - dreylau I have the feeling that you dont know what you talking about. When Tsvetana plays like shit - we say that she plays like shit. When she wins we are happy, when she loose ... well not so happy. When she can`t win 2 matches in a row in the 99% of the tournaments - we say it. But we like her anyway and she will be one of our favorite players no matter happens. I can`t understand what is your problem  What do you expect to see here - "Ohhh Tsvetana , you loose from N871362187321 in the world , but I`m extremely happy and today I`ll go to the bar and buy a drink to everyone coz of your glorious achievement ". The fact is that she missed another great chance to make a good tournament, she loose again from nobody and she do it all the time... well half of the time to be honest  But my point is that when she suck I say it , when she play great , I say it and cant see why not

ok, great if you have the feeling that I don't know what I'm talking about, great you are certainly right. So in the futur I won't say what I think about your opinion. I just had the feeling that you was too hard but ok keep saying things like that but I'm not sure if you were her you will appreciate it.

definitely not  But after all we are all here to discuss Tsvetana`s game (at least its her thread) and the loss was really ridiculous considering her abilities and her opponent so I really can`t understand why you are upset

I'm thinking the same thing at the moment. Sprem beating Marosi 6-0 6-1 even with 27% first serves in (I think).

Puts Pironkova's loss in perspective, maybe she doesn't have the right mindset for those sorts of matches?

Ok, Tsvetana was in bad day + Marosi is not so bad player . Everybody know that Tsveti have horrible forehand and her serve is not so good and Marosi used this -> http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x63cnc_budapest-r2-marosi-vs-pironkova-las_sport . Tsveti is great talent but really she have to think about her problems . My opnion is that Marosi was uncomfortable player and Tsvet was in defensive situations . I hope in next tournament she will make her best career result :) .

Where is her next tournament ?

I was hopeful for Bulgarian tennis at the start now I am just ashamed. One takes one step forward than three steps back and the other is listening to her idiotic father and stabbing her country in the back when money is not as much the problem as is hard work and a good coach, both would be miles ahead if they had a coach who knew what he was doing.

Tsveti Pironkova made one of her last practices before the Olympics in her club Lokomotiv Plovdiv where she received a very nice celebration by the kids that train there and people from her home city. She was very surprised and happy which you can see on the photos. She leaves for Beijing on the 5th of august with a group of bulgarian competitors.

She gave a brief interview where she said that she will give 100 % of herself and try to make a good tournament. She is very trilled that she will participate in her first Olypmpic Games. She also said that made a good preparation in Plovdiv and hopes for the best. I wish a nice adventure, good memories and of course a medal.

For the records is to mention that Tsveti lost 2-6 2-6 to Cibulkova in the second rd at the Olympics (hit 2 winners and 41 UEs, which was not good ... )

in the past 52 weeks she has now lost 11 of her 14 second rd matches :o (+ 3 times lost in the second rd of Q)

to my surprise I see now that she's playing New Haven next week
faces (WC) Bethanie Mattek in the opening rd, then comes (3) Bartoli

I think this was one good result for Tsveti :) . In the first set and to the middle of second she was great . Her serve was working great and she made some aces . In "hot spots" like A/40, 40/40 she made ace . She won first set from first set point ... In third set she was down 1/4 but she made it to 5/4 . Only I'm disappointed when she made DF in 5/5 third set and 15/40 .

I think Tsveti have good training for US Open and i hope she will show best there . :yeah:

I think their styles of play are just totally different and Tsveti has to play exceptionally well to stand a chance against Anabel

Unfortunately Tsveti will probably fall out of Top 50 after this loss :(

There's something special about her look. She's not conventionally pretty, but she's looks very unique and it's hard to take your eyes off her. Also, she's got one of the hottest figures on the tour.

Hopefully she keeps up this weeks form for the rest of the season now. After this week, she has very few points to defend so she shouldend the year inside the top 50.

Well, what can I say... it was one great match to watch in which Tsveti played one very clever and powerful game to win. Her forehand was much better today and her serve helped her to win sooo many important points!! She didn't get broken in the match at all :)

Cornet was getting very mad in some parts of the match, which was good for Tsveti. There were some very long games, but it was always Tsvetana winning in the end ;)

As a whole she did raise her level a LOT compared to her previous matches :) and I honestly think with this game she could give a lot of trouble even to someone like Safina on Thursday

Tsveti gave a pressconference today with the bulgarian presenter of Head. She will continue to play with their racquets next year including more 44 bulgarian tennis players.
She is begining the season in Brisbane, then she will play in Hobart and after that of course the AO. Tsveti said that she will celebrate Christmas in Plovdiv but New Year will be in some flight to Australia.

You don't know what I felt when I saw her pictures from the pressconference. She is so so pretty. The photos are wonderful but they have a tag on them. But never mind I can say that the most beautiful female tennis player is bulgarian in the name of Tsvetana Pironkova.

Here are some of them:

I watched Niculescu vs Pironkova. It was a really good match which basically consisted of Pironkova hitting hard and deep and Niculescu trying to break Pironkova's rhythym. Tsveti backhand was on fire today. She hit some fabulous winners off that side. The points were rather long and it was intense. Both girls were pumped up. Including their coaches. Was a fun game to watch.

The draw is really bad. Tsveti has 10 % chance to win according to me. I red few minutes ago a article with Schnyder on the Hobart International official site and I am very sad that this is the place Tsveti drawed. I will cross my fingers fo her and let's hope it will work. :)

Oh, please, JR, let's just support people and not go into personal attacks. We should be above that, don't you think?
And honestly, after meeting Sesil, I don't find anything sleasy about her. I guess we all have our opinions, so let's keep things civilised.

“I’m really happy, I didn’t expect to play so well today,” Pironkova said after the win.

“I managed to stay in the court (the ball) and hit deeps shots, and she (Schnyder) didn’t play her best tennis.

“To beat the No.14 is a big win, I’ve only had three or four top 20 wins so this is a big win for me,” Pironkova said.

World No.14 Patty Schnyder knocked out by unseeded Bulgarian
January 11, 2009

WORLD No.14 Patty Schnyder has made an inglorious first round exit from the Hobart tennis international, saying the tournament's officials are "a joke".

Unseeded Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova, 21, outplayed the surly second-seeded Swiss - once famous for a bizarre orange juice diet - 6-2 6-4.

Schnyder, 30, earned a code violation for unsportsmanlike behaviour late in the second set for audible obscenities uttered after a prolonged argument with the chair umpire over a line call.

It was one of several clashes with chair umpire Kerrilyn Kramer.

The veteran and player's representative for the Australian Open lead-up event in Hobart, pointedly avoided shaking Kramer's hand before complaining to reporters about the officiating and a slow court.

"The first (line call) was real(ly) a joke. I mean you can't miss that with glasses 5cm thick,'' the disgruntled former Hobart champion told reporters before stomping off to her hotel.

Pironkova, however, had no such concerns after her big serving game shocked Schnyder.

"I've only had two or three top 20 wins so it's a big win for me,'' said the world No.44.

Earlier on Sunday, Melbourne's Sally Peers received the harshest of welcomes to the WTA tour, losing 6-0 6-0 on her WTA debut to powerful Czech Petra Kvitova.

Kvitova beat Venus Williams last year and made the fourth round of the French Open.

"Now I know how hard they hit the ball,'' a philosophical Peers said after her 43-minute centre court appearance.

Sunday's other first round winners were Slovakian Magdalena Rybarikova, Czech Iveta Benesova, and Alona Bondarenko.

Early on in her career Schnyder said she drank three litres of orange juice a day after falling under the spell of a self-styled German therapist, Rainer Harnecker, who also became her lover.

It seems that it was a very intense match in the ending. I remember that in the begining to very important points were taken from Tsveti. She was 2-0 up a BP, when the scoreboard showed 3-0 and then changed to Deuce. The same thing happend at 2-1. What is hse compalaining. I didn't knew she was so nervous.

About the coverage. Nothing at all. There isn't even a livestream. The situation about the Sydney tournament is a lot diffrent. But the reason is that it's bigger.
I wrote them about their mistake too. Two people were enough for them to correct it. :)

DutchieGirl Report from Hobart:
Tsveti-Patty: OMG Patty was just totally overpowered in the first set. Tsveti was really going for her shots, and making them when needed to win the games. Quite a few games were close, but Patty just couldn't handle the power and run everything down. I had the "pleasure" of sitting near her husband and he was trying to support her (in german), but if she won a point he would tell her "good point" or so. Patty was swearing a bit in german in the first set.
