It's about time that we have a cheering thread for this rising Japanese star! :bounce: :worship:

Ryoko's allowed to play 9 more tourneys until her 18th birthday in October. I'm guessing she'll play at least:

Everyone. Long time!! I am writing this on my coach's computer. Ok, ok...
I had the first round match of MD today. I defeated Russia's Kondorativa with 6-4, 6-4 score. The 2 qualifying matches were really tough, but I am glad I could get through. I have no match tomorrow, so will practice and be ready for the next match. My opponent will be Dutch, Elise Tamaela. She's lefty and playing "annoying" tennis, but I'll do my best as usual.

Here, in Poza Rika, hotel and tennis courts are execellent, but outside it's just a countryside. The first two days were just hot, but these three days have been really hot and humid! Ok, I am going to bed now. Nite nite!

Hello everyone. Today's game was... 2-6, 6-4, 6-1. I won!!
My opponent, Tamaela had really few errors... it was harder than the score and we played for over 4 hours. It was really nice day and really HOT!
Today's game was just patient. Tamaela constantly hit top spin lobbing balls. As imagined and expected, she played very "tactic=annoying?" tennis. But looking at my side, I could play very well, make her move side to side and could get most of the good opportunities. I could keep the good mentality during the whole game. Defeating 100s ranked player was a good thing and gave me some confidence too. Tomorrow, I'll play Evelyn Fauth from Austria. She's a qualifier too, but she used to be on 100s in ranking...so I am surfe it'll be a tough match, but I'll do my best. Ok, now I am going to practice a bit! See you!!

PS: Yesterday's soccer game!! well, it was an own goal...but I am glad we won! I wanted to watch the game on TV!! Ok, later!

Hello everyone. Too bad! I lost in three sets in yesterdays' final. Well, I played 7 matches from the qualifying...and won tough matches... were very good experience for me. We caught a bus left four hours after the match... took 8 hours and left for the next tournament place. I couldn't sleep well in the bus...and this morning I slept til noon! I went to the tournament to make a request to have a game on Wednesday...but this tournament's final is on Sat...and everyone has to play 1R matches tomorrow!! well, nothing I can do about it! so tomorrow is my first round! My opponent is a wild card player from Columbia. I saw her play last week..and she played good...I'll do my best here. It'll start at 3pm tomorrow. Here, it's just next to the beach...so it's very windy!! Okaaaay! I'll just keep playing my best this week!!!

Hello everyone. The last week in Mexico, I was sick and got kinda sad result... but I did my best anyway. On my second round, it was really windy! crazy! and the game was crazy too. Anyway, even though I lost, but it was a good experience to play in that kind of condition. This week, I was supposed to play in Jackson in America... but I will take a two-week off and practice during that time. I'll play in Hamanako, Gifu and Fukuoka in Japan. Now, I am in Los Angeles, and will return to Japan on Tuesday!! I'll practice on omini-court. If you are nearby, please come to the tournament!!

Hello everyone. How was your weekend?
I came back to Japan the day before yesterday. My weekend... I just practiced for my next tournament in Hamanako. I practice on Omni court now... I got a one week and a bit more for the tournament... It's hard to move around on this surface...but I am getting used to it again. I'll do my best!

Everyone, good evening! Today, I won my first $25000 tournament!! I am so happy!! I could win the doubles with Seiko Okamoto too! Hamanako is the best!! lol I could keep playing really well this week. Unfortunately, the final was the opponent's retiring, but I could advance to the final and yea, I deserve it!
So many supporters came to the tournament today, but couldn't show them some tennis...I feel really sorry. m(_ _)m (<-bowing)

After the win, the possibility for the grandslam qualifying might be there, so I'll keep working hard! and next!! winning a $50000 tournament is my goal!

After a marathon match yesterday against Henke, Ryoko destroyed Maria Fernanda Alvez of Brazil 6-0, 6-1 in less than an hour! That's extremely impressive! Lookks like the long match gave her a lot of confidence!! Nexy she plays either Olga Savchuk or 13th seed Ivana Lisjak! She should win that one and then she'll be in her first MD! Good luck Ryoko!

Ryoko will have a surgery in Miami the day after tomorrow.

She has been bothered on her knee for over a year.
After talking to a several different doctors, now she puts her trust on the doc from Miami Heat.
After a few considerations, she decided to have a surgery.

She thinks very positive about this surgery, and has a confidence of coming back to the tour even stronger.

What's going on??!!
In fact, only as for four days, I went back to Japan hello, everyone,; of course have a long it more, and wanted to be, but there are ... colors and circumstances, and and must already tell me about ... soon how about recent me; the shin (whether anyone is mind になってないって) ! 笑! Such; please do not say, and a sad thing lies down; 笑)
In fact, I have injured a knee during a match in Mexico on March 30 before one year. I went back to Japan and had doctor examine it, but completely took off for one month because it was ... which would come to take some off and a diagnosis to say.
And I did rehabilitation first of all and trained to wear movement with the coat which a pain did not appear well once again, and it was possible for tennis, and it was it.
By going, little improved in US OPEN to the preliminary finals, but after all I was different from an exercise in a match, and a lock suffered from a knee, and it cannot play it at 100% to repeat a tough match and was angry in what I cannot make every match best for.
I took it so that I cast inflammation agent on a knee directly, and I was in state that I was the best for Asian Games, and it was possible for a play at the end of the year of last year. Thank you, inflammation agent worked so as to be interesting, and Japan could take two bronze medals home without a pain really, and it was a convincible result when it asked it it to me of that time.
And the pain returned when several months passed and forgot a thing of an injury of a knee. Because did not recover completely, sleep; comprehension is not crowded; when said, when put a band aide, exchanged it, and was ... and a feeling to say.
I had it include Japan / foreign countries, and five doctors examine it, but it is ... which each did not understand whether the cure that there is an opinion different in, and is different is for the ... honesty that there was is troubled, and better seed ... whom to say a thing good most for present me so far. I thought of ... っと which I would hold how.
Meanwhile, around 2 weeks ago, I will have Miami Heat and a team doctor of a saying team fighting in basketball / NBA through an acquaintance of a coach accidently examine it.
Even if he took it, there was not it and I became kind and, with a kind person, did a diagnosis of my knee like doctor in a good meaning.
As for his diagnosis, an operation does an indispensable thing to ... bad news to recover completely. But, as for good news, he had experience of this operation, and it was to be sure to be able to get over.
And, about an injury of the knee which I held in this now, I did explanation with grounds very intelligibly. I take a diagnosis of such him, and ... holds this injury in having thought for another one year, and regret is as possible not without I avoid an operation and do every possible thing, and leaving it undone! It is ^^; which only an answer asking a teacher for came out to while it thought by と, oneself
And was unreasonable, and had, in fact, operate on it the day after tomorrow in Miami on Friday of 13th while was busy; because it is the first time to be operated on, is scared a little, but is a ... wry smile.
I bear any kind of rehabilitation if I yearn for recovering completely in this and try it hard to cut it by tour return early in a day! !
Fortunately, it is it is early, and to think it to cut it by tour return on 3.4 moon! It is up to perseverance of my rehabilitation afterward! !

Ryoko went for a 2nd surgery on her knee not long ago, & is currently under rehab. Sad to see her suffering from so many injuries so early in her career. :sad:

That's a shame. She always had a lot of potential she never really lived up to because of injuries. Her match against Peer last year in Washington made me think she could finally get on the right track. All the best in your post tennis career, Ryoko. :hug: :wavey: :sad:

yea it'ss really unfortunate... really hard to overcome injuries... kyoko nagatsuka, saori, tomoko yonemura, akiko (morigami)... aiko has been struggling too...
