this just reminded me of how great an all surface player jelena is. her game really translates well anywhere. problem is her consistency obviously. this is why she was top 4. i think grass may be her best surface, then hard... but it's tough bc shes done pretty well on clay and carpet too.

Though she only has 5 titles, she has titles on every single surface available  Only rebound ace and supreme indoors are missing  but those are only present in 1 tournie each, so I doubt anyone has won on every single surface.

She has titles on hardcourt - Tokyo Princess Cup, green clay - Sarasota, red clay - Rome, carpet - Moscow, and grass - Birmingham

Well to ans the question yes Hingis won on every possible surface you name it she won it, except for the french she won every possibly title on every possible surface, carpet, indoors, supreme indoors(paris in 97), green clay hilton head, red clay both rome and berlin as well as hamburg, rebound ace of course(aussie queen from (97-00), hard courts indoors and outdoors ex: US open, indian wells, ericsson, and acura sandiego etc. grass wimby and hetergoboshen the one in netherlands (ordina open i think its called) so there there has been some one who won on every surface! Now the list of those who won on every surface is quite small!

Yeh I forgot about Hingis, since she retired. Serena is another possibility, but I don't know if she's won on SI since she doesn't play many tournaments. BTW which tournies have Supreme Indoors as surface? Paris is Greenset indoors. I think Leipzig was the last tournie with SI but it's gone

Jelena can play anywhere on the same level.
I hope she could see where she can really capitalize her training to win a GS.
I think she could be dominant in hard.

tough to call, simply because she's good on all surfaces. but the way she plays(flat/hard hit groundstrokes) i would say grass, then carpet. but she's still top 10 on clay and hardcourts as well.

hingis won every possible title on every possible surface??? im a fan of hers, but that's most definitely not true. u could add like 40 tournaments PLUS roland garros that she never won...

o btw, im also pretty damn positive players like monica, conchita, and lindsay have titles on all the surfaces too.

I vote for "none of the above," because with a 28-30 match record last year, Dokic proved herself to be mediocre on all surfaces. ;)

Why, horizontal surfaces, naturally!

Well to answer your questions, here are the results :D :

There's no doubt about which is Dokic's best surface - GRASS - where she won 79,2% of her matches (even with 2 first round losses in Eastbourne 02 and 03)

The second one could be surprising for non-Dokic fans, but Dokic fans know this surface brings the best out of Jelena as well. I guess she prefers the old fashion tennis surfaces because - CLAY - is her second best surface with 68,4% of matches won

Carpet is her worst surface with only 55,6% matches won, despite winning on carpet in Moscow 3 years ago

jelena is great on all surfaces and she has won a title on each of them as well from memory. as far as grand slams are concerned, most people would agree that her game is best suited to grass, which is probably true... but then again she has won a tier1 event on clay and made the QF at roland garros... then there is the hardcourts, where jelena proved what a great player she is back in 2002 when she had those amazing runs on the u.s. hardcourt season. then there is indoors...

lol cant i just pick all of them? :p
