Just like yesterday he had to mention, while they were talking about Kim,that Justine flew to Dubai to play there (while Justine still didn't said a thing about competing there) while she withdrew from Antwerp. And again with huge sarcasme in his voice.I mean, seriously I officially hate the guy and the whole VRT aka Kimtv

First VRT/ Canvas sucks, because why in the world would you show a tournament on tv and let the the topstars play in the evening (this never happened in germany when steffi played. or maybe in germany the tv has more influence)

I understand my you may sell more tickets in the evening but then show the match that time too and not 1,5 hours later :o

and the exaggerating tone in the commentating is very annoying too. they act like the world comes down after every point. excitement is good but this sounds sooooooooo fake :o

Must say the Euro sport commentator (Dutch one) has a much better analysing of the tennis game. I'd rather watch Eurosport than K.V's commentating. I prefer listen to the German/Dutch/English/French etc than the Belgian commentators because the Belgian commentators are all but neutral.

Instead of complaining on a tennisboard, write to the redaction or change the channel, watch Eurosport instead then. By the way, too many flemish keep on complaining about the VRT, while on La Deux for example it isn't much better, it is Justine worshipping.

this is kinda hypocritical...when justine plays someone other than kim (or vice versa), the commentators aren't objective either, they also cheer for the belgian. i've never heard anyone complain about the lack of objectivity in those matches...

i guess the commentators just support those players they feel closest to, so when kim and justine play eachother, ladeux will praise justine and canvas will do the same for kim. and sadly enough, that's just the way it is.

Actually when Justine plays KIm,it's pretty obvious which side Canvas takes (I mean to let Carl Maes commentate the AO-final was wrong :o )While on RTBF they threat them equal.I even get the feeling sometimes that they support Kim more just to show the audience that they aren't pro-Justine,nor pro-Kim.I remember the RG-final,were the commentators were really getting annoyed towards the end and were really hoping Kim will finally make a match of it.

at least , the truth!!

There is something i don't like whith die-hard kim fans : whenever Justine get bashed in flemish papers, or when vrt is turning into kimTV, they feel like the only way to justify it, is saying that it is also how it happens the other way round ( kim in french speaking papers or tv ), which absolutely not true.

I don't really have a problem that if K&J play eachother, the commentators support Kim more. I guess that's a bit normal working for Flemish tv.

but what annoys me is that they use every little thing they can find to bash Justine in the news, on teletext, when she isn't even playing. Why is that necessary? Like the piece on the "noah"-match, or just now, that Kim is sneering to Justine in her post match interview saying her throath was sore, while they really don't know if Kim had bad intentions there, the doping-insinuations, etc...
I don't mind them them prefering Kim but I do mind them disrespecting Justine.

Yeah, but the thing is:they are overdoing it.Kim was really bashed by the Flemish media for her decision for about a week. After that it wasn't a major subject anymore. What they are doing to Juju is really over the line.We haave shut up far too long,we just want some justice.Justine is the badgirl right now,but I'm sure that if she were to win a gold medal this year she ain't going to be that bad anymore.

It was longer than a week, even the Standaard opened a discussion about it. The 'hetse' around Justine won't even last that long, when she wins that Dubai-title, everything will be back in order.

Seriously i am not hoping for another all belgian final or even another Belgian GS-final, cause everything it brings up more trouble than something else (except the first GS )

Let's move on folks. It's DUBAI now. The Justinator wants to play
tennis with the big girls like Venus, jenn, and Serena- obviously not
Kim. Kim can win all the small tournaments she likes, and the local
Flemmish press can praise to high heavens; but on the end of the
day the results that will impress and make headlines around the globe
are wins over Serena, Jenn, LD and Venus or grand slam titles! :worship:

That's the thing:when she wins she's a godess (except when she wins against Kim  ) when she loses or makes a decision like last week, she's the devil herself.I'm really hoping that Justine will play and win Dubai by beating the big-ones so that can she shut the mouth of those stupid idiots who dare to call themselves journalists/commentators

Must say the Euro sport commentator (Dutch one) has a much better analysing of the tennis game. I'd rather watch Eurosport than K.V's commentating. I prefer listen to the German/Dutch/English/French etc than the Belgian commentators because the Belgian commentators are all but neutral.
that's because Karl is a CYCLING commentator and has to do the tennis because the vrt doesn't have anyone better, which is a pity...but hating karl? he's one of the most competent, maybe in Europe, when it comes down to cycling...so no, I actually like him....

Actually when Justine plays KIm,it's pretty obvious which side Canvas takes (I mean to let Carl Maes commentate the AO-final was wrong :o )While on RTBF they threat them equal.I even get the feeling sometimes that they support Kim more just to show the audience that they aren't pro-Justine,nor pro-Kim.I remember the RG-final,were the commentators were really getting annoyed towards the end and were really hoping Kim will finally make a match of it.that's not true....anyone saying that has obviously not seen the australian open final on the rtbf...they were more pro-henin than they were pro-Clijsters on canvas at the same time....

The reporters of the VRT for the tennis matches are superb ! Come on, I mean I don't know any challenge with such a high quality of comments. Eurosports comentators don't even know the technical terms used on Canvas !

I'm a hundred percent behind you on this (which shows we can agree and disagree from one thread to another). If Belgium is stupid enough to favour stupid squabbles even though we should be dancing in the streets for having the best champions in the world, then better have one of them quit or take a long holiday and let the other do the job all by herself (I have my preference for the one staying but this is purely rhetorical of course).

I can explain things much better in English. Caesar was beaten by Ambiorix, leader of a Belgian tribe. By saying that the Belgians were brave and courageous and great fighters, he indicated that he didn't lose against some nobodies, but against great fighters. If he would have said of the Belgians that they were weak and not good in battle, he had made a fool of himself in Rome, he the great Caesar, so good in battle, was beaten by some losers. He exaggerated the brave part a bit, although it was probabably true, but I think there were more braver tribes in gallia. He used this tactic a lot in his books 'de bello gallico', it made him popular in Rome.

Yeah, that is right. I am not from Limburg :) , Vlaams-Brabant, don't consider them brave though.

There is a long tradition of "bravery" ( ?) here, i can tell you that. Some "invadors" ( envahisseurs ) didn't like it at all and destroyed the whole city several time as a vengeance . That was the case in 1268 for example, when The king of France made the city a ruin ( Not a SINGLE building survived ) because people didn't accept his authority. There are several examples, but i think you're not really interested anyway.

I'm sorry for my french :), but usaul I repect the language of the topics.
