The Proximus Games in Antwerp are very beneficial for the Belgian tennis players. Not only did they win a lot of WTA-points, they also earned a lot of money!!
Justine Henin: 49,500$ :o
Els Callens: 11,800$
Elke Clijsters: 6,275$ (Elke earned more this week than in the whole of her career!! And she didn't even win a match...)
Laurence Courtois: 2,875$
Patty Van Acker: 2,448$
Caroline Maes: 2,350$
Leslie Butkiewicz: 1,874$
Kirsten Flipkens: 1,825$ (Kirsten earned more than twice as much, as in the previous tournaments she's played in)
The weird thing is that Daphne van de Zande earned nothing
How is this possible? Doesn't she earn money anymore because she's "retired"?? Can anyone please explain this to me?
