You know, I have always been a BIG Svensson fan since I watched her play Steffi Graf in the 1995 Houston Open final. She has been my favorite player since then. For the last few years, I have been cheering her on, only to see her lose mostly every match she plays. I am officially sick of Asa. After today's loss, I am so embarrassed to have cheered for such bullshit that I'm over it. No more support for Asa; I'll value my energy with other players who try. Today's match should have been a straight set win for any decent player against Brandi.

If you've been following Svensson you would know that she has just come back from a pretty severe injury and only started playing again in challengers at the end of last year. She is currently ranked 300. Brandi is ranked 52. I think Asa did extremely well to be honest. Sure she had great chances to win, but to play at the same level as the #52 player is a great performance from Asa. IF she keeps playing like this she should be back near the top 100 pretty soon.

And happens what happens and even though I am not Asa fan so much as SvenssonFan, As martinafan said, she has put so much effort to comming back, and so far the best Swede this year. Indoors has never been a good surface for Asa and clay is where she'll make damage.

Good job Asa, best luck next time :yeah:

I saw asa play yesterday, and she's definitely on her way back up. the loss against brandi, who played flawlessly in a 60 60 first round win, is NOT a bad loss...asa will be back up where she belongs before long. you should change your name, its an embarassment

I think it is a shame that you ditch your players so readily. Asa has come back from a serious injury that kept her out most of last year, and if you knew anything about tennis then you would know that players cannot re-enter the sport and play like they did before on the click of your fingers. Brandi is a talented player, who has only just beaten Conchita Martinez in the Aus Open among others recently. Asa pushed Rubin, a top ten player, to three set in the Aus Open. For Asa to be beaten 6-4 in the final set is a very good performance. I feel for the players you start to support next.

Well done Asa! :bounce:

Just so you know, I am a huge tennis player and fan (intercollegiate level). I have come back from injuries in the past and I know that it is hard to come back. I was upset that she lost last night, that's all. I'm still a huge fan. I just get frustrated with her loosing all the time, because she has so much potential to be top 20. And my frustration last night didn't come from just one loss to Brandi, it came from the last 4 years where she's had pretty bad results. I just want to see Asa at the top of her game like she was in 1995-1997!

And why is Sofia losing to players lower than her? :(
