No problem : you will learn when you grow up.

Like someone else asked, How did Pratt get in?

Besides, if this list is dated Feb 3, how come Mara Santangelo is not in the main draw yet? Her old ranking is still showing... how come?

That’s not what I said. Don’t misrepresent. Anyone can read what I said... Your date format, “Feb 03”, would be referred to, by most people, as the year, not the day. :smash:

Check your update for the 5th, with your self-important thread title, still indicating “Feb 03”. Or maybe like me, you feel it’s not important, because all posts/edits, are automatically credited with the date/time. :smash:

And why was it necessary to start a new ‘Acceptance List’ thread, when salima had already started a separate (clearly titled) thread? :smash: But far be it for me, with my “lack of experience”, to judge! :tape:

Yes it is your lack of experience again. Another opportunity for you to learn something : I posted on Feb 05th the acceptance list dated Feb 03rd. It is obvious from the date I posted and the title of the thread.

It is common to post updated accptance lists. Check again past tournaments. You will here again learn something.

She wasn't on the original list, so her inclusion is quite mysterious... Well, she wasn't in the initial commitment list and listed herself as 'next in'...as soon as any player withdrew she got her spot ;)

Is that allowed???

As far as I know the rules, you have to make commitment at the deadline (normally 6 weeks ahead) to be considered for direct acceptance... from what you describe, a high-ranked player can register after the deadline and be on top of the "next in" list, pushing back lower players who commited in time and just missed the original cut... so what's the point of commitment deadline??

b. Late Entries

Silver Exempt players may enter Tier III, IV and V Tournaments late after the official entry deadline up until the Qualifying sign-in deadline, or if no Qualifying, by 4:00 pm the Friday prior to the start of the Tournament, and will be placed on the alternate list in accordance with the ranking used for player acceptance.

If a Silver Exempt player is ranked in the Top 20 on the ranking used for the player acceptance, she may enter any Tier Level Tournament late.

Alicia:( still recovering i presume
weak coz of the scheduling i believe, it should be scheduled along Paris like in 03,
they actually got Mary Pierce last year believe it or not who chose here instead,
most people are already in Europe for Paris/Antwerp back to back,
anyways, back idea pushing this back a week

As of Friday noon, Alicia Molik had not withdrawn, per people down there in Hyderabad. Firehose, where did you see that she withdrew.

Leon-Garcia withdrew and Rodionova moved in. Vanc made it in not because of a withdrawal, because there were no request for a 3rd wildcard to be exercized for a silver exempt player (with Pratt having mnnoved in earlier already).

Let us know if you know something about Alicia having withdrawn. Inside info?

Why would she withdraw. After her AO show, she would be itching to play somewhere (and the loss last week wouldn't have helped) - with this being the time she has nothing to defend and (injury last year) and is time to go up. I know, the points aren't all that much here, but still...

Yep. Firehose did have the right scoop on this even before the tournament guys knew in Hyderabad. At 8 pm friday they learned that Molik withdrew, and Kulikovskaia made the main draw in the last minute before the qualifying draw was made.

WTA needs to do something about all these last minute withdrawals. Way too many in WTA compared to ATP.
