Well, Chanda's off to a good start. A pretty impressive scoreline against a very dangerous opponent. Next is Akiko, who's sure to have the crowd behind her. Just make sure you're focused, Chanda, and you can do it.

Damn you, I-L-C, you jinxed her! :P

That was a lot more complicated than it needed to be, Chanda! We You barely got through it. You'll need to clean things up a lot for Venus. You can do it, Chanda! Best of luck!

Let's Go Chanda! You still need your revenge from that US Open match that you should have won. :fiery: Venus is still rusty and this is a great opportunity for you to have a great win, and hopefully get some confidence back. Above all, PLEASE NO 50 MPH SERVES IN THIS MATCH, otherwise you will have no chance.

You can win this match Chanda!

On a positive note, at least Chanda knows what she did wrong against Akiko. In her interview she said something like "I didn't play aggressively enough... To beat venus I need to get the first strike and be way more aggressive." I agree with this 100%. When Chanda plays aggressive, attacking and moving forward, she can play with anyone (see most of the first set against Nastya at the AO) However, Chanda has a tendency to have lapses where she seems to be just waiting for her opponent to hit errors and staying at the baseline, which isn't her game. If she can stay aggressive against Venus and get in to net as much as possible, I think it will throw Venus off (a la Lisa Raymond). I think Chanda has a very good chance to win this match, I just may stay up to see the result ;).

Well, Chanda is into the semis (Venus withdrew with a leg injury   ). Although I wanted Chanda to win (of course) I definitely didn't want her to win like this. However, Chanda needs to take advantage of this opportunity. She plays Maleeva next, and has an excellent chance of making the final. However, Maggie has been playing great this week, so Chanda will have to bring her A-game to beat her.

Good luck in the semis Chanda!

Kyk :wavey:

Certainly not the way we wanted Chanda to reach the semis. We've seen her on the wrong end of enough of these to sympathize with Venus' fans.

The good news is that Chanda got a day off to rest. She'll need to be fully prepared for Maggie. Maggie is a tough player indoors under normal circumstances, and she's been on top of her game this week. You'll need to bring the goods, Chanda, if you want to win. You can do it! Best of luck!
