I am also a fan of this young rising star. Does anyone know if the Indian open will be on tv in america?

I doubt that the tennis channel is showing this.

Jay, I know it can get confusing when people are taling about both Masha's. :confused: Thus I have learned to seperate them by referring to Maria Sharapova as "Big Masha" and "Mashara" and Maria Kirilenko as "Little Masha" and "Makiri". :)

Little Masha got to the quarterfinals of this tournament last year. Now it's time to make the semi's and go from there. But she has a tough quarterfinal match against Widjaja who she beat in the Indian Open last year. Let's hope history repeats itself.

I am shocked at how easily Maria is winning her matches! :eek: This is only her first maindraw tournament of the year so I didn't expect such a stellar performance from her. It would be great if she could win her first WTA title at age 17 and get that out of the way. But Nicole Pratt is a very experienced player will be a tough opponent for Masha in the Indian Open final.

Maria is playing the best tennis of her career i think. Also the crowd support she gets in Hyderabad is just amazing :eek: . It was like an Indian playing Tanasugarn. I think the organisers would do well to market her well next year as she could well turn out to be the crowd puller. The only thing she mentioned after the match interview was that "thank you Hyderabad people". She served quite a few aces too in this match. Tamarine was effected by an injury to her knee in the second set but i doubt whether it would have altered the result of this match the way Maria is playing. This must be the biggest win of her career which could be overhauled tomorrow :)

Masha lost to Pratt in straight sets. :sad: :tears: Was hoping for a title from Masha to brighten my day but I guess not. :( Great effort this week Masha, good luck in the future! :kiss:

I hope making the final gives Maria the confidence to compete and win on the WTA Tour. :)
