I'm happy! She got through a tough match against a tough opponent; she may have hit 42 errors, but she hit 43 winners, and that is huge!!! Those stats kind of remind me of the Indian Wells semi against Jen, she was hitting winners all over the place, I love it!

And she made it through the match without getting hurt, and finished it very strongly, I can't wait to see it on tv tomorrow!! :bounce: :bounce:

Yeah, Loit is pretty much tough opponent pushing Serena even harder last year!!! besides when Lindsay was down 4:1 in the second set, i think she gave it away already in her mind. All of the games Lindsay loses were actually went to deuce and an opponent like Loit, who dont give up running. Thats why she got those medical timeout. Warning to Lindsay opponent!!!!!! yes you can run and chase Lindsay's punches but how long?????

GO Lindsay!!!!!

She got the medical timeout because she strained her back and hamstring muscles - which is painful :(

It was a gutsy win by Lindsay though - for a stage there I didn't think she would get through it - but she did - she now has to learn how to hold her serve!

She's second up on one of the outside courts tomorrow in the doubles - so maybe she can get some rhythm going there and not injure herself...

I'm beginning to doubt that you're a true Lindsay fan. In your GM posts and in this one you are awfully hard on her and very negative.

I just saw the match on tv, and all I can say is, Lindsay was pissed!! I think it was because she failed to break serve in the 2nd game, she knows she has to get off to good starts. And she only started to calm down when Loit was going crazy. Lindsay, stay positive! (Well, we love you even if you do get mad!)

Okay the following post can be considered a rant - but it will cover any queries anyone has been saying that I've been negative, etc...

I am a true fan of hers - I just look at the whole picture with how she played, etc. She said the same thing in her press conference so you could say I was only getting it from there, but I wasn't.

A true fan has to look at the overall picture - not just look at their own player or they will be disappointed on more than one occasion - if your favourite loses a match where they didn't play and didn't deserve to win, then you should credit their opponent, regardless how much you are disappointed; if they still manage to win even if they didn't play well or were tested, then you should also credit their opponent for putting up a fight, regardless of how happy you are.

Remember in tennis there is more than one player involved in a match

I've been a fan of Lindsay's since 1994 - seen her go through good and bad times on the court; been there a few times when the bad times have occurred; but also have been there for some of the good times...

So above all, if I wasn't a true fan I wouldn't still be a fan of hers 10 years later. :)

She plays great tennis when she gets pissy. Hits the ball even harder, if that's possible. With Justine not feeling good, I still say that Lindsay is into the semis.
