Any news on Amélie playing here - personally I think it's too soon and she should withdraw. Get that injury sorted out and come back to whip the rest of the wta tour!

We'll know on Friday - from the Gaz website (thanks to griff and Sonja):
Open Gaz de France: Mauresmo takes a decision on Fridayhttp://www.opengazdefrance.com/mediastore/gdf/open/img/p.gif
03 February 2004 - Emmanuel LANGELLIER (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Having a back injury since the Australian Open, Amélie Mauresmo will have an ultrasound on Friday and will then, according to the results, decide whether she will take part in the Open Gaz de France or not.
Amélie Mauresmo came back from Australia on Wednesday and she goes on her convalescence in Geneva. She is still suffering from a torn intercostal muscle (a 1.5 cm lesion). As she said on her official website, the French player « still hopes » to take part in the Open Gaz de France which starts on Saturday with the qualifications and the first matches of the draw will start on Monday.
The new world player n°3 will have an ultrasound on Friday afternoon and she will then decide what she will do. “Anyway, I will take part in the draw of the Open Gaz de France on Sunday afternoon” she said.
I agree, she shouldn't come back until she's ready. If she does decide to play, at least a Thursday start will give her a little more time to recuperate.

Fixed price of Amélie Mauresmo
The world n°3, Frenchwoman Amélie Mauresmo, declared fixed price for the Open one of Paris, which begins Monday, because of a tear intercostale.
Amélie Mauresmo had had to give up disputing the quarterfinal the Open one of Australia on January 27 after having been wounded with the preceding turn.
The Frenchwoman had reached the final of the preceding edition the Open one of Paris, where it had been beaten by American Serena Williams.
She will be replaced in the table by the world Swiss woman Patty Schnyder, 15e and semi-finalist with Melbourne.

 Poor Amélie, but she did the right thing. I think this injury could be pretty bad if she doesn't take the time to let it heal. :crying2:
