View Full Version : Why is Lindsay playing doubles?

Not to create controversy, just wondering... With all her injury problems, should she risk it? really? She has a good chance to win this AO. I really think she should sit the doubles this time... what do you guys think?

This is a really stupid move on her part. But when you think about it, she has a really good chance of taking the doubles here. So, who knows. Hopefully her body can take it.

I think it's a sign that she's confident her body can take it.

They're due to meet Navratilova/Raymond again in the 2nd round, won't that be interesting?

I also think she committed to the doubles before the Hopman Cup call-up - if you read in those transcripts she wasn't going to play Sydney but did it because she didn't want to let Corina down.

Lindsay is really the sweetest person! but she must feel pretty confident about her shoulder if she is playing doubles!! martina and lisa are probably freakin out right now knowing they have to play a great team that just beat them last week, they might want to pack there bags early

Martina and Lisa had to go to an emergency lesbian poetry session to try to unwind. :tape:

I wish she was not playing doubles too. As you say though they have a good chance of winning the doubles crown but I would have thought this was a good chance for Lindsay to contest the singles with Justine.

 :worship:

I was a bit concerned too, when I found out she is playing dubs too, but I know Lindsay knows herself pretty well, and knows how much her body can take. Besides, I love to see Lindsay playing alongside Corina in doubles - oh, the memories.........:)

She's not due to play doubles until I think tomorrow (when she plays her singles match) at the earliest - so it all depends I guess how her shoulder and her thigh holds up before the doubles match... look at it on the bright side you lose first round in the doubles and I think the prize money is still around $A8000 (since singles first round loss is $A16,000) :)

For we english, that is about 3500 for 1st round doubles and 6800 for singles. Well, a first round loss would be enough for the flight and a few day accomodation! ;) lol I know flights from UK is about 1500+ so it could be more from the USA.:p

For those in the US, the conversion is as follows: US$12,300 for singles 1st round and US$6200 for doubles.

well, I hope Doubles is not a pressure on her, maybe just an added practice, specially with her volleys.
