Yeah, this is another $25K in Surprise, AZ. Not sure where she will play after that. Maybe the clay court ITFs in Florida in March and see if she can get her ranking high enough for the FCC at Charleston. She was pretty good on the green clay when I saw her at Ponte Vedra Beach in 2009.
At any rate, its nice to see her get into a rhythm of winning matches again.
I'm pretty surprised to see Tamira play doubles, but good for her. It's not like she's wearing herself out these days with too much tennis. Lolo's a great young player, but this pair is perplexing as they have similar strengths and weaknesses as doubles players--strong baseline games and a lack of volleying skills. Maybe that's what they are working on, lol. OTOH, they could probably just sit on the baseline and drill forehands (Lolo) and backhands (Paszek) for winners all day long.
It won't be easy against Alexandrova. She has a good pace in her groundstrokes using obviously a low tension for her racket. If she keeps her errors low it will be difficult for Tamira.
I saw Tamira play today in Cagnes sur mer 100 K, she won 62 62 against a French LL.
I was impressed, played well in windy conditions.
I clapped her off the court after she won, she looked up, smiled and said thank you. Seems like a very nice girl, impressed. Will start cheering her on now
