Re: Paszek 2013!

Tamira lost 3-6 1-6 to Mayr-Achleitner in R2 at 75k Dubai !

Mayr-Achleitner is a player Tamira should beat without problems. And she lost easily

Very disappointing result. Tamira is only a shadow of what she used to be

Re: Paszek 2013!

I'm guessing that was an outdoor hardcourt, which, for whatever reason, has never been one of Tamira's best surfaces. I know she says she likes playing on hardcourt, but her results on the surface in her career have never suggested she is going to be great on it. I think the fact that bounce neutralizes her flat shots more than grass, coupled with the fact that her weak serve is at the mercy of the wind in any outdoor environment makes hardcourt tennis very tough for her. I've seen her play some decent matches on the surface, but most of the time her serving really kills her chances.

Re: Paszek 2013!

^ I agree. Indoor hard is Mimi's best surface I think, followed by grass. Her forehand is a shot that needs time to set up, and yet she still does well on fast surfaces, which is good.

Sorry, but that`s complete bullshit

Tamira played some of her best tennis of her career on outdoor hardcourt !

At WTA Dubai in 2007 she qualified for main draw, beat Top 25 Srebotnik in straight sets and then only lost to #2 Henin 4-6 7-5 6-1 in an amazing match.
Tamira also won her first WTA title at Portoroz in 2006 - an outdoor hardcourt tournament ! As a 15-year-old girl, where she beat Benesova 6-1 6-2.
At WTA Bali in 2008 Tamira reached the final with wins over excellent players like Grönefeld, Errani, Pennetta and Hantuchova, only losing to Schnyder in final.
Tamira also played great tennis at US Open in 2007 where she reached R4, beating Schiavone and Schnyder in fantastic matches, only losing to Chakvetadze.
Other good wins at US Open where in 2008 when Tamira upset Kirilenko and in 2010 when she defeated Safarova, both strong wins over talented players.
Another example how well Tamira can play on outdoor hard is Aus Open 2008 R1 match vs Jankovic. It was a high-quality match. Tamira only lost 2-6 6-2 12-10.

Tamira`s worst surface by far is clay. She only won 1 main draw match in career at FO !

No, Tamira`s best surfaces are clearly outdoor hard and grass !

What amazing has Tamira achieved on indoor hard besides her WTA Quebec City title ? Nearly nothing. We all know Tamira loves Canada and feels comfortable there because she has family and friends there. And I just saw Quebec City was played on carpet by the way. Tamira has lots of bad results on indoor hard. Let`s take a look at her results at her home tournament at WTA Linz

2005 lost in R2
2006 lost in R1
2007 lost in R2
2008 lost in R1
2011 lost in R1
2012 lost in R1

Disastrous results for her "best surface". Actually really horrible

All but one of the examples you cited are from over five years ago. She was essentially a junior then, playing a completely different style of game. She was a much more aggressive player years ago, as most teenagers are. Now, she plays far too passively, losing too may matches because she cannot, or fails to even try dictating points.

Not only that, but picking out one or two tournaments a year where she had a good week to try to prove a point is rather disingenuous.

If you go back and really examine her hardcourt record, you will see that almost all of the time, she has bombed out far short of the expectations raised by those early performances.

Outdoor courts of any surface are difficult for her because of windy conditions, but grass offers her by far the best chance for success because her flat shots and low center of gravity adapt well to it.

Re: Paszek 2013!

Fact is Tamira had some of her best results on outdoor hard. Many amazing wins, impressive quality !

The potential to play well on hard outdoor is there. Tamira only has to play like she did in 2006-2008

Now Tamira is too passive, footwork/movement is bad, forehand weak, no consistency. Everything worse
