Re: Austria's Future-Tamira Paszek

I know it's a little late, but I just watched Tamira's match against Kanepi at Dubai, where she lost 6-2, 2-6, 0-6. At the time, "watching" it on livescore, I was perplexed as to why the match turned so suddenly and inexplicably. Well, now I can breathe easier about it. Tamira had a back injury. She was clearly dominant in the match until 6-2, 2-2 and then her back was noticeably bothering her. At the end of set 2, she called the trainer, who worked on her while she was laying on the ground. Her movement was not good from that point and she really should have quit. Too bad--she had a nice draw there. At least it wasn't as bad as what we saw on the livescore. Kanepi didn't do anything to win it--Tamira just got hurt.

The back thing flared up again in Miami, BTW (I caught her on video holding her back in practice), and I wouldn't be surprised if that was the reason for the Jozami debacle in Monterrey.

Is Tamira playing Guangzhou? As of today, she is still on the entry list, per TBE.

Re: Austria's Future-Tamira Paszek

Auckland AND Brisbane? I thought they were the same week?

It's going to be a long road back. I just hope she is healthy enough to play aggressively.

Yeah, but she can wait until it gets closer and then choose which one
