It's been hot in Melbourne but around Australia it has actually not been very warm at all. Sydney has been very mild all summer so let's not get political here.

Howard doesn't sign the Kyoto Protocol for political and economical reasons but Australia in general is actually quite progressive environmental and State governments are doing a lot and our numbers are better than most.

ITS BEEN HOT IN MELBOURNE BUT NOT AROUND AUSTRALIA?
Are you kidding
This summer has been hotter than last summer... which was hotter than the summer before.
Where I live since summer began we have had a handfull of days below 30 degrees.... It was 40 degrees a few days ago... and its about 36 degrees today. Lol!

it's been STRANGE in sydney

Some spring days got up to 40 degrees it was crazy heat, except this summer hasn't been bad at all. Strange weather patterns, some snow, thunderstorms, still bushfires. its very strange, but its definitely due to the enhanced greenhouse effect.
