Venus to Play in Hansol Open Next Month

Wimbledon ladies' champion Venus Williams
will participate in the Hansol Korea Open that begins Sept. 22 in Seoul, according to tournament organizers Tuesday.
Williams is the biggest draw in the tournament that features a number of the top players in women's tennis, including Russia's Maria Kirilenko
and Japan's Sugiyama Ai
. It would be Williams's second visit to the country, as she beat Russian tennis icon Maria Sharapova 2-0 in a friendly match in Seoul in 2005.
Williams, ranked as World No. 13, rides a hot streak into the Hansol Korea Open, clinching her fourth Wimbledon title last month after beating Marion Bartoli in the finals.
The former World No.1 has won 14 Grand Slam titles, including six singles (four Wimbledon, two U.S. Open titles), six women's doubles and two mixed doubles crowns. Along with hers sister Serena, Williams is spectator favorite for her power game, currently holding the record for the fastest serve every recorded by a female player at 206 kilometers per hour.
