Question

How long does it take to get from London to the venue in Eastbourne? Until what time is it possible to leave? And how expensive is that trip?

Thanks

@ that price

Thanks Two hours is more than doable, but the prices suck.

Re: Question

OK, another question.

I am considering spending two nights (Saturday + Sunday) in Eastbourne, and then heading to London early on Monday morning. How big is Eastbourne? Is there good public transport in weekends? Is the venue easily accessible?

I've managed to get a 5 day railcard to Eastbourne for around £30. The prices do get more expensive the closer you book though
Railcard?

I am not British, so I don't have any special cards. I guess it's expensive to buy that card? But if I stay in Eastbourne, I would need two one-way tickets (one to, one from Eastbourne).

Re: Question

Coocoocachoo,

Eastbourne is a small town, it's a 10-15 min walk from the train station to the courts. There are many Bed and Breakfast places but the popular ones near Devonshire Park tend to get booked by regular fans from 1 year to the next. It might be worth checking out the Eastbourne Tourist website for info. The tournament is well worth a visit, especially if the weather is good.

Thanks esdee

I found a bed and breakfast place that was still not booked, and was for a reasonable price, so I am considering that one. 10-15 min. walk is great

I will be comparing it to Rosmalen, which I love to death, so it will have to be really, really good in order to match up

You might also want to check www.southernrailway.com/Daysave

I've never been to Rosmalen but a friend of mine has several times, and he prefers Eastbourne. But I think it's maybe better to say they are both nice tournaments. You are very close to the courts and players. You will also see the players strolling around the town in the evening and in the restaurants. One word of caution - it can be quite windy so make sure to have a warm jacket or similar. If you bring this, you can be sure there will be lots of warm sunshine
Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the link! That is really helpful

I take your word for it that they are both nice What I like about Rosmalen is the field (I don't like Eastbourne's field, cause the players are ranked too high ) and because it's also ATP.

Yeah, Rosmalen can be cold and windy too I will definitely bring a jacket.
