What Nadia Petrova learned from Mary Pierce

After winning her SF against Svetlana, she was asked why she put a towel on the ground and placed her feet on them during the changeovers...She said it was something she was taught by Mary Pierce. The tennis balls have a lot of yellow fuff that sticks to the indoor courts and these can stick to the shoes, which can cause you to slip.So the static of the towel removes the fluff from the shoes. I didn't know Mary did this.. or that she was so intelligent on court... . I do know Mary and Nadia played doubles in 2003 and won a title too, so maybe Mary shared this with Nadia then...
