Unhappy Mary lost

Mary lost another very winnable match 4/6, 6/3, 3/6. Im really not sure what to think she really showed so much promise on the American hardcourts and Olympics and now on a surface she really likes she is struggling. It is sad to see a great c Champion play like this.

For me, this rates with Radka Bobkova and Germana Di Natale as the worst loss of Mary's career. I'm beyond perplexed.

1998 champion Mary Pierce - and No.5 seed this week - was removed from the event in second round action, losing to Dally Randriantefy, 64 36 63.

"This is the fourth time I played her and the first time I won so I guess I finally figured out how to play her," Randriantefy said. "I knew if it was a battle at the baseline, she would win, so I had to mix it up, come to the net and get some good lobs.

"I've made it to 3 finals on the ITF circuit this year but haven't won any, so I'm hoping I will do well. This is a great tournament and I love playing here."

I'd love to here what Pierce thought about this match

I really do not know what is up with Mary. She should have won this
match I think. Is she in right mental/mood. Is she injured etc..???

I think for sure she needs a full time coach with her. I am not to
sure if David was with her this week. I am sure that she needs some one with her to coach and just give encourgment.

I am really worried about Mary.

"I felt very strongly that it was not the right time for me to retire, and there were still some great things for me to accomplish in tennis. So once that really clicked inside of me and I realised that, I just started to work very hard, and to try to be the best that I could possibly be."

Moi ça me déprimerait vraiment.

Mais bon Mary, on est là nous !!! Il faut savoir s'entourer ma grande! On te souhaite tous bon courage.

Oh please! As if Dally really had much to do with winning this match! I think she'd find it had far more to do with what was going on in Mary's head (or with her body), don't you?!
