Yeah.

Ambas entre las 100 primeras WTA

Vento y Sequera aprobaron brillante semestre internacional

Arrow Milagros Sequera

www.wtatour.com
1 November 2003

QUEBEC CITY, Canada - Before playing her semifinal match against top seed Mary Pierce, Milagros Sequera's coach offered some advice - just play your game and have fun. After routing the top seed 6-4, 6-0, the 91st-ranked Sequera was having lots of fun.

After yesterday's quarterfinals, Sequera described herself as a slow starter. She needed three sets to defeat No. 6 seed Marion Bartoli, but against Pierce, she charged from the start, breaking the two-time Grand Slam champion in the opening game and never losing serve. Pierce continued to fire shots at the Venezuelan but couldn't crack her. In the end, Pierce's game unraveled, and the pace was no longer there.

"At 4-0 in the second, I said, 'Don't think, just play,'" said Sequera, who advanced to her first WTA Tour final. "I just hung in there and that's how I came out the winner."

Sequera will now meet Russian Maria Sharapova, whose grit helped her through a tough semifinal match against American Laura Granville. After a convincing first-set win, Granville lost her focus, and Sharapova capitalized.

I like this part:

"At 4-0 in the second, I said, 'Don't think, just play,'" said Sequera, who advanced to her first WTA Tour final. "I just hung in there and that's how I came out the winner."

She can control her mind at the critical moment.
