CAREER IN REVIEW1991 - Competed in Puerto Rico qualifying
1992 - Competed in qualifying at three WTA Tour events (including Puerto Rico again), obtaining a WTA Ranking of No. 610 on October 5
1993 - Reached one ITF Circuit SF (competed at eight events) and failed to qualify for Puerto Rico (third try)
1994 - Won first pro titles at ITF/Indianapolis-USA, sweeping singles and doubles (w/K. Miller); reached finals at three other ITF Circuit events (one singles, two doubles)
1995 - Reached one ITF Circuit final
1996 - Reached two ITF Circuit SF
1997 - As a world No. 148 qualifier, reached 3r at Australian Open, upsetting world No. 58 Begerow and world No. 122 Van Lottum before l. to world No. 27 Dragomir; reached final at an ITF Circuit event
1998 - Became first American woman to win four USTA events in a single year, with titles at ITF/Clearwater-USA, ITF/Phoenix-USA, ITF/Peachtree City-USA and ITF/Austin-USA
1999 - Won first title on WTA Tour at 's-Hertogenbosch, a grass court event, collecting first win over a Top 20 player, Van Roost, in the QF; captured sixth ITF Circuit title at ITF/Salt Lake City-USA
2000 - Collected first win over a Top 10 player at Australian Open, upsetting world No. 10 Coetzer 2r and then world No. 20 Dragomir to reach first Grand Slam 4r; following tournament, ranking jumped from No. 54 to No. 38; continued strong Grand Slam season by reaching the 4r at Wimbledon; continued grass court success, reaching SF in 's-Hertogenbosch, including a 60 61 win over No. 6 seed Dokic 2r; reached Birmingham QF
2001 - Retired from QF match at Hobart with a leg injury, and withdrew from Oklahoma City singles due to a virus; upset No. 4 seed, world No. 22 Frazier in 1r at Madrid; at Birmingham (grass-court), d. 2000 finalist and No. 5 seed Tanasugarn to reach QF; continued strong grass-court play at 's-Hertogenbosch, d. the No. 8 seed in 1r en route to a QF finish; withdrew from 2r match at Los Angeles and from next several tournaments, including US Open, due to right wrist tendonitis
2002 - Ranked No. 77, upset world No. 35 and No. 4 seed C. Martinez in straight sets at Auckland, l. 2r to Gagliardi; as world No. 82, retired injured in 1r of Indian Wells to world No. 60 WC Srebotnik at 3-6; reached doubles final at ITF/Peachtree-USA w/Baker

Kristina Won her first Qualifying match at the US Open 6-2, 6-3.

I did meet her at the Pittsburgh ITF event a while ago, but I'm yet to fully engage her in a conversation. Now that she has had such a great start to the seaso I doubt she'll be doing the ITF tour so I might have to use the 'fellow puertorican' card to get ato talk to her.
