Basically that ranking is all the players without their IW points, and is updated every round. TBE keeps one up here at TF as well.

It's a good barometer of how much a certain player can improve their ranking during a given tournament though. But with JJ, I really don't really care about ranking as long as she holds onto top 8 or breaks top 4 (highly unlikely)

She'll make top 5 if she makes it farther than Halep and Sharapova.

I can see Nara beating Halep but I can also see Halep winning easily... I don't know who Maria plays.

just heaven!

Nara is a total headcase she's had set points against JJ both matches they've played and she's lost all of them to JJ's pushing, Halep will be too consistent for her imo. Nara has great groundstrokes, but she doesn't have that ability to suddenly inject pace into her shots, I think Halep will love the long rallies and will be able to dictate on her own terms. The only player I can see taking out Halep in her quarter is Safarova, and Safarova has to do it in 2 sets. I think Lucie will be able to bludgeon the second serve and force Halep on the back foot. But still very unlikely.

Maria has all BBB in her section, Gorges, Giorgi, and Cirstea, I think she will be far too consistent for them, but who knows, she's only played a couple matches this year. I think Pennetta has the best chance of taking her out, based on past history and the matchup.

Sometimes being #5 can help (Like Errani last year got vaulted to #4 seed at the USO when Sharapova withdrew and really had a cakewalk draw to the SF)

Luck is very important. You can win GS without facing top 20 player. JJ can not count on luck.

JJ should def YM 6-3 6-2...unless she just hits dozens of UEs as she's prone to doing out of nowhere.

I cheer on scrubs.

This controlled aggression and hitting corners (not edges of lines) over robotic retrieve balling ANY day of the week. It makes me weep seeing her play so well

Do it again Jelena <3

Despite not making many winners, she's still an agressive baseliner, and she doesn't only win matches by waiting the opponent's mistake, though she can do that at times also.
