I was more confident that JJ would beat Stosur than I was Lisicki.
Sabine literally plays 5-8 good tournaments a year (as of late) and thats about it. I watched the 5 min highlights against Burnett, and knew Jelena would struggle. And if Sabine had no confidence I knew JJ would win in straights.
Since its Germany, everyone would be in favor for Sabine so I kew her confidence would be fairly high. So that in turn gave her the added boost to play better.
I didn't see any of this match, but to me it seems like she had a great day in the office for an extreme BB. I agree with what Brena said about how it sucks Sabine just happens to find her range when Jelena is trying to get to the top of the game again WHERE SHE BELONGS. We all knew Sabine would crumble against BMS, no matter how good or bad BMS played. So again it sucks more that BMS disposed of her easily.
I'm confident that Jelena will just see this as a little speed bump, because she's been on fire as of late. JJ is much of a confidence player and I don't see this as anything bad. She hasn't performed well in Stuttgart in recent years so I think it'd be different if she's made the SF or finals here the last 3-5 years or something.
I was shockingly not super upset with Jelena ( maybe because I wasn't actually watching her waste momentum to get back in the second set
) I'm usually muttering to myself the next day with many obscenities not meant for small children's ears
She has like no more points to defend until Birmingham so I want to see a top 15 entrance (and seeding at RG) for Jelena. I think she can do it.
