I just figured out the name of my least favorite commentator. Kevin Skinner. He's horrible

Who's that male commentator on ES who always fawns over Wozniacki??

Edit: Oh, found him

Can't stand him, tbh.

JJ's draw isn't "hard" but I think its challenging enough that she'll step up at the big moments. I'm hoping for a QF or better from our Empress!

Doubles Specialist Јеlena Jankovic
Crowd Favourite Victoria Azarenka
Former Tennis Player Petra Kvitová

Jelena leads Head To Head vs Meusburger now 2-0 !

I like her IW draw. Jelena should have no problems with Rybarikova. Beat her

Serena: "We have great personalities like Jelena (Jankovic) on the tour."
Jelena: "If I had to pick someone after me, I'd pick Serena."

Good Luck
Serena Williams Maria Sharapova Jelena Jankovic

T. Paszek A. Chakvetadze K. Sprem J. Dokic I. Tulyaganova A. Myskina

Commentator: That's what Wozniacki does. she wears u down she makes u go for that slighlty more ambitious winner than you usually would.

I guess thats the nice way of calling someone a pusher.

It makes me sad that players like Woz keep winning. She has such a "I'm just trying not to lose" mentality and game it's disgusting.

What's even more gross is the fact Jelena loses to this type of game far too often

You have no agency in this match. You might start to wonder if you have free will. Perhaps solipsism is true after all - is it Jankovic's world and you're simply allowed to live exist in it? It's basically existential waterboarding.

i don't even think wozniacki's in the game mentally anymore. she's just here to collect her check and her endorsements and move on. no improvements at all in the past few years. i think she's fine with it too she seems very happy with rory.

even JJ, who has regressed in some places like her movement and footwork, has improved in many other areas like her serve, net play, and groundstrokes.

Re: Jelena Jankovic Cheering Thread - 2014 Season - Volume 16

JJ is last on Stadium 1 - How many of you wanna make a bet The Tennis Channel doesn't show the match in its entirety???
That will make me right mad if they don't. But I haven't checked the schedule enough to see what matches might eclipse it on the other courts at that time.

Just chiming in on Woz/JJ possible match - well, let's get through Magda.. and then I am so ride or die for JJ, but I just don't know if she will play patiently enough to take out Woz.
It's kind of like this.. JJ loses to pure counterpunchers because in these match-ups she becomes the aggressor by default. She doesn't wait for errors she's the one making them.
Against Aga, Errani, Woz, Kerber... I just don't give her the win. JJ likes to receive a lot of errors.. and she is hitting bigger. She tends to get frustrated so quickly that she goes for even more. Woz is just going to push that ball back and wait for JJ to go for the winner on either side. In her heart of hearts, JJ thinks she can whoop Woz with an aggressive game. And to me, JJ, you need to just wait for her to make the error.

And all that is just what I've observed this year. JJ for some reason loses her cool so quickly. When she was beating up on everyone in 2008 she was so patient in the rally. She was less powerful, sure, she goes for much bigger serves and much more pace on the ground balls, now. But...

Jelena Jankovic Fan Forever ever.

Very true about the last sentence. It's great to see her throw in nice serves and occasionally win points at the net instead of losing every single one. Still in top 5 for best smashes on the WTA

If Jelena beats Magda, and cannot beat Wozniacki, I have no idea what to think. Wozniacki played very badly against Shvedova today, and was very lucky Shvedova is a huge fucking headcase, and always chokes. It's a type of match she MUST win. But I just want her to beat Magda first

JJ will need to be extremely patient. The courts are playing like a swamp. It's sooooooo slow, even I could return stuff from the professionals out there! But JJ hasn't shown to be patient as of late, so I'm worried. But like I stated before I need to wait until she beats Magda (hopefully) before I get too ahead of myself

but JJ was really ripping the ball that match

i haven't watched any of the main stadium mathes.

Outside courts are always faster than CC. But I think JJ during her R2 match said court is so slow. Maybe I'm wrong lol

Wozniacki is playing well. Not making errors and that brings wins

Re: Jelena Jankovic Cheering Thread - 2014 Season - Volume 16

JJ vs. _____ Counter Puncher
JJ vs. Aga scares me the most because Aga will out of nowhere place a winner on both lines. And no one loves to run all over and make their opponent run all over as much as Aga does.

JJ vs. Woz scares me second most because JJ has lost so many matches to her consecutively that she's in her head. She should beat Wozniacki the way she's playing but then again she should win against a lot of people she doesn't

JJ vs. Errani scares me thirdly, because of all the counter punchers, Errani never seems injured or hurt. She is so fit. She seems to be ready to go 50 sets if she has to. JJ can tire almost anyone out in three sets but Errani

JJ vs. Kerber scares me fourth because Kerber will give you an error and can tire a bit faster than the others.

The only truly aggressive players that scare me are Serena, Li, Halep (pseudo aggressive), and Bouchard. Even against some of the other biggest hitters JJ can scramble their eggs and have them hitting error after error.

Jelena Jankovic Fan Forever ever.

Wozniacki? Who?

The one from Canada? Or the tiger girl? The thai girl?

I cheer on scrubs.

I'm so exhausted physically and emotionally today, and when I'm exhausted, I laugh at anything, and the whole "Thai girl... tiger?" thing has me crying laughing I seriously can't stop laughing

I can't believe she said that, she is so amazing.
