Serena really does like Jelena.

Oracene said Jankovic is her favourite player on tour (after her daughters, of course) and I think this is a heavy influence. Not saying their mother controls them, but Oracene is an infinite source of knowledge so the sisters know.

I mean really, Serena likes JJ a lot. Jelena knows it, and reciprocates - JJ likes Serena a lot.

Meh. JJ could've come out the victor if she'd reached the final. Very unlucky draw for her. Serena would have tanked to her if they met in the semis, and she could've avoided being Rena's pigeon..
Now she's down to 8 again, behind Angie & Halep. IW is obviously her big chance to jump in the rankings..
Go JJ!

Perfectly explained in one sentence. Srsly, they always have this crazy drama in their matches.

JJ was too emotional during this match. It's like she really wanted to win so badly, screaming and cussing from game 1. She needs to calm down. In the past, she has always felt like the underdog in the matches against Williams, but had a quiet, CALM confidence, which really helped.

She needs to also take advantage of her serves, finish with some sort of 1-2 punch, at least on her BH side.

I almost wonder if Serena would have thrown the match to JJ the way she obviously did to Alize? JJ has so many wins over Venus. Serena, wanting her sister to have a big result (any of us would do the same after all Venus has been through, and at her age) Serena may have thought the risk to big and went ahead and got to the final and thrown it there.
Ideally, she didn't want to be in that final and we all know it. Venus is amazing but Serena playing her best would take her out 2 and 2 like she did against JJ.
Alize had nothing to hurt Venus. Alize doesn't have the game to hurt JJ, even. So... But I am very happy for Venus. All the haters and doubters can just go scratch.

She's gotten some "OKAY" draws this year. The path to Brisbane SF wasn't bad. Her Aussie Open Draw wasn't either. 3 Japanese players outside top 50 Her Doha draw was good too. The Dubai was decent at best, I think it just looks worse since the other half of the draw fell apart. And a player who just happens to be Serena Williams showed up

Despite not making many winners, she's still an agressive baseliner, and she doesn't only win matches by waiting the opponent's mistake, though she can do that at times also.

JJ is #7 seed and I just looked at all the places she could be placed in the draw based on where the #7 seed was put since the 2010 Indian Wells tournament (the best year the event was held )

The first seed she could fave would be either 25-28 or 29-32. Every year since 2010 it's been like 28 or 29 or 32. And every single year her 4th Round opponent would be the #10 or #11 seed. I'm assuming it'll be the same once again.

The #10 seed is Wozniacki and the #11 seed is Ivanovic... Jelena won't be the favorite in either of those matches

Well, since the draw is supposed to be random, she could play any seed 25-32 in Rd 3, and any seed #9-12 in Rd 4.

Since it is random, similar to a coin toss, previous draws have no effect on future draw outcomes.
