And then, she let her lazy side win, she completely gave up on thinking on court and decided to take the seemingly easy route of a ballbasher which has led her to where she is now. i'll never understand why she was never able to combine her newly found aggression with using her brain.
I think she has no idea how to play this new playing style and she didn't manage to find a proper coach to help her, her confidence is doomed as well. She has like zero confidence that she can play this new style with some success. Her 2006-2007 playing style was my favorite, aesthetically pleasing, smart game with more variety than later in her career. Her match against Hingis in Sydney was a pure joy to watch.

When I look at their gameplans, JJ and Martina were the most aggressive ones, they had more power as well. I thought that Aga would become more like Hingis by time, but no. It's a shame she won't IMO, it would help her win a slam.

Just to clarify, no one plays like Hingis; I love Jeja and Aga but Martina was one of a kind to me [/reminiscing]

What do we have here? An adversative conjunction?

I agree. She's a league of her own.

Oh the Heady days of Martina Hingis! How she is missed
Back to Reality. Congrats to JJ for grinding a second round win out. I think the 3rd round may well be quite awful but I am praying that JJ will believe in herself just a little bit more than she has been doing of late. I don't think Ana is in such a good place either at the moment and I do believe there is a slight chance of a win for JJ if only she would believe it herself that she can win.
Come on JJ, give yourself a chance, please
With you all the way, just go for it girl

It doesn't matter how she won today. As BFF Sharapova said on Monday: "if you win 7-6 in the third you still win the match."

I hope she can string something together against Anci on Friday. She deserves this. I saw her play on Monday and she's fighting hard. She really wants to do well, you can see it in her expressions and the way Jelena is playing.

Ana had treatment today for a left foot injury. She said she got it from tying her laces too tight. JJ needs to exploit dat!

I am so excite for this match up.

I personally enjoyed her 2008 gamestyle the most. Those crushing backhand DTL's out of nowhere and lopping forehand CC's.

That first point of the 3rd set from Jelena - definitely deserves a rewatch!

OMG Jelena nearly lost to Koehler. I hope this scoreline is not true

Seriously 2-6 7-6 6-2 against such a player. I give up on Jelena. She is done

Jelena: "If I had to pick someone after me, I'd pick Serena."

Re: Jelena Jankovic Cheering Thread - 2013 Season - Volume 13

Can anyone summarize the first 2 sets for me? I watched the 3rd set on ESPN3 and it just seemed like Koehler imploded (from being so close to close out the match I'm assuming), JJ didn't really do anything but keep the ball in play from what I saw (and she couldn't even do that properly)
