Ana must have played out of her mind to beat Kerber in FC because Kerber's playing great!

It was an entertaining match, but neither of them played amazing. The best thing about Ana's game at FC was that she was calm throughout both matches

Really? Kerber is so good today. Granted, Pavlyu is half a girl, half a UE machine, but Kerber is still impressive - movement, offence, defense, aces even, everything.
As for the sudden calmness of both Serbian sisters, it's so weird I'd send them to a doping test.

Honestly
I won't be surprised if Petrova beats Ana today. I'll be pressed, but not surprised.
It doesn't matter though, this is Jelena's tourney to lose

I saw Ana's match with Petko, it was atrocious from both, but Petrova is a loony supreme.

Obviously, but I just wanted to be kind to lesser players like Kerber, as well. They put a lot of effort into making this a high-quality tourney for Her Majesty to win.
BTW, Kerber's game reminds me of Jelena's in 2008.

I dunno, I think Jelena moved better, especially on clay. She also deals with moon balls much better and her strokes are visually more pleasing to me. Kerber's forehand is definitely better though. I really really enjoy both girls' games at their respective peaks.

I used to like her but her God-awful technique started to get on my nerves She also can't handle any variations of pace (slice, moon ball etc.) It's why players like Nastya make her look better than she actually is; she just feeds her hard, flat balls.

Kerber's game is disgusting, her knee-shots and her attitude even and she's moaning all the time, has that annoying grunt as if she's gonna die. Just a bigger version of Radwanska. Has no pace, no power in her shots, etc. In addition to that, her game has no similarity with Jelena's.

Me! Me! Me! She's my idol, honestly.
I've heard about her retirement via Swedish Curling Federation FB page, and I can't say I was shocked but I still had a wee tiny ounce of hope that the team would reform for the next Olympics. Especially since I saw Eva Lund became the coach of the Swedish male curling team that has just won the world championships.
Together with Irina Privalova and Dementieva, those 4 ladies are in my personal sports hall of fame.

Yes, that's what Venus does. Ana played a smart match against her, mixing up a lot. Slices, powerful forehands, drop shots... It's a good example how to beat her. Although, Errani must be the best example, she killed her with junkballs.

I think all of this goes to show how ignorant I am of anything concerning tennis technique. I've been honestly impressed with her game several times in the last couple of years, but you must be right since she does get easily dismantled by a number of players.
And I do agree that she totally lacks elegance.
