Re: Tennis Muttering Thread - vol2

Monfils

8-6 to Simon, who will probably retire to Andy in next round. Andy will torture him with drop shots just the last time they played & Gilles was injured

Though I'm pretty sure he's lost to Chardy before

Someone on MTF posted this GIF to describe the match

I feel for his fans He is the true definition of mug How you are unable to punish someone serving consistently at 70mph I think a player like Monfils is uncoachable, like Empress

Re: Tennis Muttering Thread - vol2

It's just frustrating because sometimes he actually comes up with pretty good stuff and you 'think why in the world isn't he doing it all the time'? but it's clearly better to backhand-rally for 40 shots with a guy you cannot move and has pain in his arm just to hit hit the world's worst drop shot... Well, I hope Andy will end this misery rather quickly

^^
Indeed. If he had a brain, he could be a slam winner. But then that statement goes for half of the tours

BoJo into the second week of a slam This must be the first time??

Sarin's smug look when she served that ace I can't believe she's going to win another slam so easily I alos think that's the first time I've ever seen Sveta in a dress

Re: Tennis Muttering Thread - vol2

playing Kiri and then BoJo/ Stephens to get into the QF well, not her fault that Kvitova is completely useless but still. And probably Vika who wasn't impressive either - or Woz could actually make a SF here
I might actually have to root for Li because she may be capable of making it competitive in the final against Serena at least. Really don't want to see another Masha-slaughter

Unfortunately for him he's going to lose in 3 sets. Healthy or not. Poor Gilles

I didn't get to see any tennis whole week and then I get treated to that Simon-Monfils mugfest.
