Re: Balkan songs I can't live without...

A live version of Riblja čorba's ''Pogledaj dom svoj anđele'' with a choir and a symphonic orchestra:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21zAH...eature=related

..and ''Ostani đubre do kraja''

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kY5q7...eature=related

I would like to go to their concert but no one wants to go with me because everyone hates Bora now. And I love their songs so much.

Video is a masterpiece. You can see how Jeja was influenced by Brena.
I'm pretty sure Jelena has re-enacted those first ten seconds several times

How could we fail to love the person who had such an influential effect on our Jelena?

Ma will kill me for repeating this, but if you carefully look at Brena's facial bone structure and nose (especially when her hair is up), you realise that Jelena really does look like her.

^I want to go to the Idiotic Night!!!!

and here's my favourite Yugoslav/Serbian Eurosong entry. It's cheesy and all, but I still like the melody and Extra Nena's singing:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crcMgouRoeQ

But it's our best entry only because Brena was robbed some years back despite her having a GOAT song and even more GOAT choreography

No, our best entry was Bebi Dol's Brazil! Latino was new at the time she sang that song. She finished last because of the politics. She was the first to introduce oriental sounds to pop as well. She's genius!

And, to demonstrate how innovative Serbian artist of the time were - here's another clip of Oliver Mandic - Pitaju me. So you know - Boy George copied him, not the other way around...

JJ fans wouldn't be caught dead there!

I wonder if there's a DJ Jelena Jankovic, too? Knowing her taste in music, not sure if I'd go there either.

Yes, that was great indeed. But Brena's masterpiece never made it to the Eurosong due to the corrupted Yugoslav jury who chose some lamers. She would ahve conqured entire Eurpoe otherwise.
